00:00The next big goal was the Translunar Injection Burn, or TLI for short, this ignition of the main
00:07engine of the European Service Module to place about 24 hours after launch. In Central Europe,
00:14it was already April 3rd, around 2 a.m. Orion has now left Earth's sphere of influence and is
00:22on its way to the Moon. That was the critical commit point of this mission. Before there were
00:28still alternatives. Now there aren't any anymore, at least not without significant additional effort.
00:33Before the TLI, the mission management team under John Honeycutt evaluated all system data from the
00:39last 24 hours. Life support, communications, propulsion, and redundancies. Everything was
00:46green, which meant a clear path toward the Moon. The TLI went according to plan and put Wiseman,
00:51Glover, Koch, and Hansen on a free return trajectory to the Moon. A trajectory
00:57that automatically brings them back to Earth without any further engine burns. Safety
