00:00In this video, I started a brand new hardcore world and transformed this area into the perfect
00:04survival setup, including a cosy starter home, a fully equipped storage house, along with a few
00:09other buildings and details. I began my journey by spawning in a coastal plains biome, probably
00:15one of the better spawns you can get, and of course headed to the first tree I could find.
00:20Once chopped down, I made a crafting table and crafted my first wooden pickaxe.
00:26With this, I gathered some wool from a few nearby volunteers to help make a bed for skipping the
00:30night later. I then headed underground to grab some stone, which we can use to craft some new tools.
00:40Just around the corner, I found some of the new firefly bushes, which I of course had to collect
00:44for decorating the base later. I also found some sugarcane, which I gathered up as well.
00:49Now, just over this hill, I was lucky enough to spot a shipwreck in the distance, so I crafted a
00:53boat to head over and take a look. I had a quick search around until I found the first chest,
01:01which was full of carrots and potatoes. After catching my breath, I went down a second time
01:06to find the next chest. I was excited to find this one was full of iron and emeralds, perfect for
01:11starting me off on day one. I headed back to shore and used the iron I just found to craft
01:16a pickaxe,
01:17as well as a bucket to collect some water. I found some more sheep just up ahead, which I took
01:23care
01:23of, and this now gives us enough wool to craft that all-important bed for later. I then realised
01:28that I hadn't actually made a sword yet, so I crafted one and tested it out on this nearby cow.
01:33As I rode along this river, I saw some coal in the hillside, so I made sure to collect all
01:38of it.
01:40With the essentials now in hand, it was time we headed off to find a perfect location for building.
01:49After some more population control and chopping a few more trees, the sun was already starting to
01:54set, so I laid down the bed and skipped through the first night. When the sun rose, I picked up
02:01my bed and headed off to continue exploring. I noticed some horses in the distance, and I quickly
02:07remembered you can now craft saddles in the latest version, so I did exactly that and headed over to
02:12a tame one. It wasn't long until I came across a village, so obviously I raided it for all of
02:18its
02:18hay bales and crops, and any other valuables I could find. Once satisfied, I headed back to the
02:24horse and continued to search for the base location. After a few more minutes of exploring, I stumbled
02:32across a lake nestled deep inside this forest, and I knew straight away that this was the perfect spot
02:37for building. With the sun setting once more, I placed down the bed and made a temporary hole
02:41for the horse to stay in, so he doesn't try and run away. And that brings us to the end
02:47of day two. When the sun rose, I placed a chest to clear out my mess of an inventory, and
02:54then
02:54began to smelt some of the meat we collected earlier. I headed over to the lake to plant some
02:59of our sugar cane. I'll be needing this for a full level 30 enchanting setup we make later on.
03:04We'll also need some leather for the books, so I crafted a hoe to plant some wheat which we can
03:09use to breed some cows. After chopping down a few more trees and crafting up some torches,
03:19it's time we go on our first mining expedition. I found this underwater cave in our lake. Now,
03:26this is actually perfect as these are much safer than regular caves, as mobs can't spawn here.
03:30Using the simple door trick to create an air pocket makes exploring these super safe and easy.
03:36I spent some time gathering a range of resources, mainly iron and coal for now. I smelted what we've
03:41found so far, and was able to make our first pieces of armour. I'm feeling much safer already.
03:50Heading deeper into the cave, I came across some lapis, gold, and a bit more iron, but unfortunately
03:56no diamonds just yet. I guess I'll have to wait for another day. I smelted up some more iron,
04:00and was able to complete my full set of armour.
04:09With the rest of the iron, I upgraded my old stone tools and also made a shield.
04:16Now fully geared up, I swam back up to the surface, and of course it was night time.
04:21I hurried to the bed to sleep, but was rudely awakened by some mobs. I quickly took care
04:27of the situation and headed to the bed to skip the night. Upon waking up, I wanted to clear
04:33out an area for building later, so I got to it and chopped down a bunch of trees, giving
04:37us much more space. With all this new wood I collected, I crafted up some fences and some
04:44fence gates to make a cow pen. I picked this spot just over to the side, so it doesn't
04:49get in the way of any of the future builds I have planned.
04:52But of course, it's no cow pen without the cows, so we had to go and persuade a few
04:56of the locals. We've also managed to round up an intruder, but I guess he can stay for
05:01now. I used the wheat that we stole from the village earlier to make the cat, I mean
05:08to expand our population. It was now time for some more exploration, specifically to find
05:15some spruce and dark oak trees, so I placed down the boat and set sail. But before I got
05:21very far, I noticed another shipwreck nearby, so of course we had to go and take a look.
05:28I actually managed to find a buried treasure map in one of these chests, so obviously I
05:32headed over in that direction.
05:41After a lot of digging sand later, I finally found the chests, and within that we found
05:45our first diamond.
05:48I headed back to unload my inventory as it was already full, before then heading back
05:52out and resuming the mission for the saplings.
06:00After quite a long boat ride, I finally came across a dark forest, so I stopped to chop down
06:05some of the trees, ensuring I've got at least four saplings so I can grow it back at home.
06:15With over four saplings acquired, we are now ready to set off. Just as I was about to leave,
06:19I actually spotted one of the new pale oak biomes in the distance, so of course we had to go
06:23up
06:23there and grab one of those saplings too.
06:35With the sapling now in hand, I headed back to the river and continued our journey to find
06:39a spruce forest.
06:49After a few more minutes of rowing, I found exactly what we were looking for, so I chopped
06:54down a few of the trees until we had enough saplings. I also found some sweet berry bushes,
06:58which will be perfect for decorating the lace. With these in hand, we can now finally head
07:03back home.
07:09Once back, I cleared out an area of trees to make space for planting some 2x2 spruce saplings.
07:17I then headed down to the lake to harvest some of our sugar cane, as well as some of the
07:21wheat,
07:21and I then used this to further increase our cow population.
07:26Now, it's about time that we started work on building the base, but just before we get
07:30to any of the building, we of course need to do some terraforming.
07:45With a lot of digging and a few shovels later, this area is already looking much better.
07:51However, we are now almost completely dry of iron and coal, so it's time that we went
07:56for a quick mining session to gather resources for base building.
08:15As I got deeper, I also managed to find my first diamonds, always a great feeling.
08:21Whilst I was down here, I crafted a diamond pick and collected some obsidian for an enchanting
08:25table and a nether portal later on.
08:30With a now full inventory of resources, it was time to head back to the base and unload.
08:44We now of course have enough diamonds for an enchanting table, so I made one and put level
08:481 enchants on all of my gear, because right now we don't have a full setup.
08:53After a small amount more terraforming and relocating my chests, it was finally time to
08:57plan the layout for my base.
09:02So I crafted a few different coloured concrete and laid out the first building, which is going
09:06to be the starter house.
09:07Just next door to that we will have a storage house, and then I thought this spot down on
09:11the lake was a perfect spot to have some kind of fishing hut.
09:14We'll then of course need some paths between them all, so the yellow concrete is showing
09:17where I plan to put those.
09:19I've also added a spot up here for a nether portal, and one more down below, which will
09:23be a mine entrance.
09:25And with that, the layout is complete.
09:28Now after chopping down a bunch of spruce wood and going through a few more axes, it was finally
09:32time to build the starter house.
09:34I usually start with the beams when building, and this house was no exception.
09:37I wanted a stone base to break up from the wood, using tuft, cobblestone and andesite
09:41to texture.
09:42Now it's no fun having flat walls, so I always try to add some kind of detail or pop out
09:47section
09:47to create some depth.
09:52And it's a good idea to outline the roof with a separate colour.
09:55I feel it just adds that extra layer of interest to the build and makes that centre colour stand
09:59out more.
10:00After that, I added a raised roof section to the front, as well as some berries and leaves
10:03to detail.
10:04The final thing was to add this chimney to the side.
10:06Once again, getting rid of the flat wall and also adding a sign of life to the build.
10:10And that completes our starter house.
10:13It's time we moved inside now to add an interior to the house.
10:17And the first thing I did was add a staircase so we have access to the upper floor.
10:20We'll get back up here later.
10:23After that, I added some stairs to the front door, and then built a wall to separate the
10:28room into two.
10:28I find it much easier to design interiors this way.
10:31I then dug up all of the grass and added a flooring.
10:34And a simple trick here is to use slabs for your floor.
10:37It takes up half as many resources.
10:39The first room will be a small kitchen slash dining room.
10:43I used some polos and aside on the floor to separate the two.
10:46Now, this doesn't really serve much survival purpose.
10:48It's mainly just for the aesthetics.
10:50However, this could have been a good space for a storage room if I didn't have a storage
10:53house planned next door.
10:55For this next room, I started by adding a railing to the front stairs,
10:59and then another to the main staircase.
11:01I also added access to a basement down below, should we wish to expand down here in the future.
11:07Next up, I crafted some maps and started to explore the local area in order to make a
11:12map wall back at the house, something I always do in my worlds.
11:17Whilst exploring, I found this spot with a great view of the base.
11:20It's already coming together nicely.
11:22I headed back and placed the maps in some glowing item frames.
11:25This would be really cool to see our progress as we build more over time.
11:29Now, we can head upstairs and start by firstly placing some beds.
11:33And I added colour with a composter and some leaves.
11:36And right now, the staircase is a bit of a hazard,
11:39so we need to add a banister to prevent any unwanted casualties.
11:43I then added a partition wall in the middle to split the room into two.
11:47Once again, it's much easier to design interiors when you have smaller spaces.
11:51I used trapdoors and stairs to create a cool arched doorway between the two rooms.
11:56Now, I didn't really know what to add in this space,
11:58so I just added dark oak to make a kind of table and repeated this for the other room too.
12:04Over here, I placed a crafting table and replaced these planks for some stairs to give it some more depth.
12:11And we had a plain wall here, and the easiest fix to these is to add a painting.
12:16I also found another empty spot downstairs, so I added one here too.
12:20Heading back upstairs, this is going to be the enchanting room.
12:23But before this, we need to craft up a bunch of books for the bookshelves.
12:26We'll be needing 15 in total to get the level 30 enchants.
12:29I picked up the enchanting table, and whilst here,
12:32I also crafted an anvil and a grindstone to complete the ultimate enchanting setup.
12:36With these in hand, we can head back inside and place in everything we need.
12:45Next up, our ceiling right now is looking kind of rough.
12:47So to fix it, I added a spruce log beam in the center for some more detail.
12:51I repeated the same for the other room, and then hung chains with lanterns to replace the temporary torches we
12:56had.
13:01From here, I placed upstairs upstairs to smooth out the roof from the underside.
13:07The last addition to the enchanting room is to add some barrels,
13:10because we of course need some storage close by when enchanting.
13:14One more detail I'd like to add is a lectern and book and quill.
13:17But for that, we need some ink, which we don't currently have.
13:20So let's go grab some.
13:22I headed to the nearest river I could find and took out a bunch of squid there.
13:26And on the way back, I actually managed to find a wolf.
13:29And with one bone to spare, we managed to tame him.
13:32So I took him back to the base and gave him a blue collar.
13:35And then sat him down outside of our house.
13:38With the lectern and book now crafted, I headed upstairs to place him down.
13:42I finished the room with some plant pots to add a nice pop of colour.
13:47And that completes our enchanting room.
13:50I headed through and added some carpet to the end of the bed.
13:52And that completes the full interior.
13:55With the enchanting setup complete, we can now finally enchant our first item.
13:58Which of course had to be a pickaxe.
14:00I got quite lucky with efficiency 4 and unbreaking 3.
14:03I mean, it would have been quite nice to get fortune as well.
14:05But this one's perfectly fine for now.
14:07Putting our new pickaxe to good use, it's time we started work on the mine entrance.
14:11I cleared some of this dirt back to create a flat wall to build on.
14:14And then began to lay down some blocks.
14:16Gone for a spruce wood design here.
14:18Mainly because we have an abundance of it.
14:19But also because it's my favourite wood type.
14:21If you couldn't guess already.
14:23I've also made sure to add a gate so we get no surprises later on.
14:27After that, I started work on the path.
14:28I placed some dirt to kind of give it some shape of how I want the staircase to flow.
14:32I then went in with some cobblestone and andesite slabs to make a gradual incline up the hill.
14:37To add some contrast from the stone, I placed down some spruce fences along the sides.
14:41This also gave us somewhere to add lanterns to light up the area.
14:44I finished with some path and coarse dirt.
14:46And that completes our staircase.
14:49For the inside of the mine, I wanted to make a mini version of a lush cave.
14:53But for that, we actually need to go out and find one.
14:55So I headed back out on the boat and rode around in hopes to find an azalea tree.
15:04It didn't actually take too long to find one.
15:06So I got out and dug straight down to find the cave.
15:08I made sure to mine down with two blocks.
15:10This way I wouldn't fall into anything unexpected.
15:13After a while of digging, I finally ran into the cave.
15:15And set out to collect a bunch of different blocks to make my own version back at home.
15:23I also managed to find a bunch more diamonds in this trip.
15:26Ending up with a further 32 to add to our collection.
15:29With everything now gathered, it was time we headed back up to the surface.
15:33I popped out in a jungle biome and found some coca beans.
15:36So I collected these before then heading on back home.
15:41Now having a total of 51 diamonds,
15:43it was time we crafted some new diamond tools and armor.
15:46We'll enchant these gradually over time.
15:49From here, I wanted to move my chest somewhere safe.
15:52So I cleared up this space in the bedroom for a quick storage setup.
15:55I had to make a small adjustment to the roof so we could open the top chests.
15:59But now it's much better having our storage inside.
16:07Having 30 levels again, I decided to enchant my diamond axe next.
16:11I was excited to see efficiency 4, but that was unfortunately where the fun ended.
16:16At least we can chop those trees faster now.
16:18With everything now in hand, it was time to get to work on our own little lush cave.
16:22I started out by mining a rough shape in the hillside.
16:25Trying to replicate the size of a natural cave.
16:28With a rough shape, I smoothed out the edges with some slabs.
16:31And replaced any dirt on the walls with stone.
16:33Ensuring to use a nice range of block types to add some texture.
16:37Now I want to add an elevator.
16:38Running from up here all the way down to level minus 56.
16:41And the easiest solution to this is to use bubble columns.
16:44But without soul sand just yet, this will have to wait until later in the video.
16:51I added some barrels because storage is always nice to have close by.
16:55And I integrated it nicely with slabs and stairs.
16:57With the shape and texturing now complete, we can now add some life to the mine.
17:12The last thing to do was to make the mine stand out more.
17:15And right now the spruce wood kind of blends into the dirt.
17:17So I wanted to change it out for some stone.
17:19Again using a range of blocks for texture.
17:22And that completes our mine entrance.
17:23I really love how this one turned out.
17:27Before the next project, I was rudely disturbed by some bad guys.
17:31So I had to quickly show them who's boss.
17:35With that dealt with, it's time we started work on our storage house.
17:38Because our current chests are quickly becoming full.
17:41So let's collect everything we need to make the build.
17:43This one again is going to be quite spruce heavy.
17:45Just because it's the easiest wood type together.
17:48I also made use of some of the bamboo I planted earlier.
17:51To craft up some of the chests.
17:52We will however be needing a lot more than this.
17:54I grabbed a bunch more that we'd collected already.
17:56To make this into chests too.
17:58However, we still didn't have enough wood.
18:00So that meant another trip out to the spruce trees.
18:06Once I'd replanted the saplings.
18:08I headed back to craft even more chests.
18:09As well as everything else we'll need.
18:11And after some time crafting and collecting the remaining resources.
18:14We finally had all we need to start the storage house.
18:17So to begin building.
18:18I once again started with the wooden beams.
18:21Using barrels at the base for some added detail.
18:23I then added the walls using a stone texture.
18:25With some spruce fences as windows.
18:28And from here I went in with stairs, trapdoors and fences.
18:30To add detail to each section.
18:34With that done.
18:35I moved on to the roof.
18:36Starting with a deep slate texture for the outline.
18:38I filled the gap with diorite and calcite.
18:40To contrast nicely from the deep slate.
18:45With the outline in place.
18:46I kept it simple.
18:47And filled the center with spruce slabs.
18:50But I thought it looked a little too plain.
18:52So I placed some more slabs and trapdoors.
18:54To add some depth.
18:56The sides were also lacking in color.
18:58So I fixed that with leaves and hay bales.
19:01With the outside now complete.
19:02It was time we worked on the inside.
19:04Starting with stripped spruce logs.
19:09I made sections to help with organizing our chests later.
19:12And used stairs and trapdoors to build archers in between.
19:15It was then time to replace this grass.
19:17And add in a flooring.
19:18And I've gone for an oak plank and stripped log design.
19:20To help break up from the spruce we've already used.
19:25Now that the floor is down.
19:27We can start to place the chests.
19:29And with 150 chests in total.
19:30We'll have enough space to store over 250,000 items.
19:35I left out one section.
19:37And I thought this would be a nice place to add some furnaces.
19:39Although this could be used to expand the storage.
19:41If we need it down the line.
19:43I then placed a crafting table in each of the sections.
19:45So there's always one at our fingertips.
19:47If we need it.
19:48I finished off with a stone cutter.
19:50And some smaller aesthetic details.
19:54And with that our storage house is complete.
19:56I just need to move everything in now.
19:59I now noticed I was close to level 30 again.
20:02So I bred some cows to gain some XP.
20:04And once I was there.
20:05It was time to enchant my next tool.
20:06This time being a shovel.
20:08I clicked enchant.
20:09But I was very happy to see I'm breaking 3.
20:11As well as efficiency 4.
20:14I quickly put the new shovel to work.
20:16And added a path connecting all of our builds together.
20:20From here we had a lot of empty areas around our builds.
20:22So I used some bow mill as an easy way to fill them in.
20:27I also made sure to use those firefly bushes.
20:29That we collected all the way back on day 1.
20:31These will add a really cool effect at night.
20:33Now I left this space at the front for a reason.
20:35And that's because I want to add a large wheat farm up here.
20:38Now this won't be the most efficient layout for a farm.
20:41But it's mainly to add a nice aesthetic.
20:43And a bit more colour up here.
20:49For the next task.
20:50I'm going to work on the fisherman hut.
20:52So I placed down a chest.
20:53And set out to collect the resources we needed.
21:01Now this one's a much smaller build than the others.
21:03So it didn't take long to gather everything together.
21:05Beginning the building now.
21:07And again I've gone for barrels on the base.
21:08For that added touch of detail.
21:10I shortly decided that I wanted to shift it over slightly.
21:12To be closer to the path.
21:13I also made sure to include a small dock area on the front.
21:16For somewhere to relax and to fish from.
21:18I added a roof outline using spruce slabs.
21:21And filled the centre with oak.
21:22And for the cosy vibes.
21:24I added a small chimney on the top.
21:25This also helps to add some life.
21:28With the building in place.
21:29We can now add a simple interior.
21:38I placed a seat outside to sit down and fish from.
21:41And finished with some item frames for that last touch of detail.
21:46And that completes our fishing hut.
21:49The following night I set out on a hunt.
21:51In an effort to reach level 30 once more.
21:55Once I got there.
21:56It was time to enchant our next item.
21:58Which I chose to be a chest plate.
22:00It seems our luck may have returned.
22:02As I managed to get the perfect enchants.
22:03This will be great protection for the nether later.
22:06Now to accompany our fishing hut.
22:07I thought a boat dock would also look great on our lake.
22:09I've gone for a simple design using campfires and spruce slabs.
22:13I've used a cool trick with dark oak logs for underwater.
22:15To give it that weathered look.
22:17I then added a few bridges to section the boats.
22:19And of course we need some lighting for those night time rides.
22:23All that was left to do was place in some boats.
22:26And that completes our dock.
22:30One of the last builds we need to add to our base.
22:32Is a nether portal.
22:34And we had this area planned out from earlier.
22:36After spending some time crafting and collecting all the necessary resources.
22:39We were ready to get to building.
22:41I started with a 3x3 portal frame.
22:44And then built a design around it.
22:45I kept it on the theme of spruce once again.
22:47And completed it with a deep slate roof for contrast.
22:50With the portal built.
22:52We needed to do some terraforming around it.
22:54I made sure to use bone mill.
22:55And plant some trees on the grass above.
22:57To help blend it in with the surroundings.
22:59And that completes our portal.
23:02Now just before heading in.
23:03I wanted to gear up a little to make it a bit safer.
23:06So I headed up to grab my diamond armor.
23:08And although not enchanted yet.
23:09This will still be better than my current iron armor.
23:12I also wanted to enchant my sword.
23:14So with another 30 levels.
23:15I did exactly that.
23:16I ended up with sharp 3 and unbreaking 3.
23:19Not the best.
23:19But definitely not the worst.
23:21So it was finally time we headed into the nether.
23:24With the main goal of finding soul sand for our mine elevator.
23:29After a brief look around.
23:30I quickly remembered I've forgotten a piece of golden armor for those piglins.
23:33So I hurried back to the base to craft some.
23:35Before heading straight back in.
23:39Now back in the nether.
23:41The hunt for soul sand can continue.
23:43On my travels.
23:44I made sure to collect other useful resources.
23:46Like shroom blocks, quartz and glowstone.
23:49After what felt like a while.
23:50I finally ran into some soul sand.
23:52So I collected around a stack.
23:54And headed back to the base.
23:55Not wanting to risk it anymore.
23:58Upon returning.
23:59It seems a piglin wanted to explore the overworld.
24:01One of the main reasons that I added a gate here.
24:04After sorting out my inventory.
24:05I headed out to collect the things we needed for our elevator.
24:09I started by heading to the sea to grab some kelp.
24:12And then collected around two stacks of sand from the nearby beach.
24:16Upon heading back.
24:17We were once again at level 30.
24:19And after seeing a pickaxe would guarantee fortune 3.
24:21It was a no brainer to go for it.
24:22I also managed to get efficiency 4.
24:24So I combined both of mine together.
24:26To make the perfect pickaxe.
24:28We now have everything we need to make our mine elevator.
24:32I started by placing some water at the top.
24:34This will be needed for later.
24:36I then began to dig a tunnel downwards.
24:38I took it slowly as this was very risky.
24:40I made sure to keep my water bucket close by just in case.
24:44I continued mining down to the desired wire level of minus 54.
24:48And dug out a small room once down here.
24:52I marked the location of the other shaft.
24:54And added a few blocks to make it look nice.
25:03With the deco added.
25:04It was time we dug up the second shaft.
25:06And I built up with sand so it was easy to remove afterwards.
25:13Once at the top.
25:14I placed some water and rode it all the way down back to the bottom.
25:20I made a quick water drop here with a sign to prevent any fall damage.
25:24And then used the torch trick to easily remove the sand we placed.
25:28I replaced the bottom block with sole sand.
25:31And then waited for the water to come flowing down.
25:34Now to make the elevator work.
25:35I had to place kelp and bone meal this all the way until it reached the surface.
25:41Upon breaking the kelp we now have full water source blocks.
25:45And our bubble elevator is finished.
25:50Now this part is always scary.
25:52But I had to test out the water drop as well.
25:55Thankfully it worked perfectly.
25:58Now to wrap up the base.
