00:19Reddit 24 hours to establish a local office in the Philippines.
00:22The government body alleged young people were being lured to commit violent crimes within
00:27these platforms.
00:27The CICC also alleged the platforms were connected to recent school shootings including the South
00:33Cotabato incident.
00:34On Wednesday, September 22, online users started feeling the ban and reported the platform could
00:39not be accessed.
00:40By Thursday, September 23, CICC Executive Director Renato Paraiso confirms the ban against Discord
00:46had been lifted after direct talks with the Discord management.
00:49Paraiso says the government wants to make response times faster for emergencies that require content
00:54or user account takedowns.
00:55He adds, this can be achieved through enhanced cooperation with Discord and Reddit.
