00:04Johor's healthcare landscape is about to get a major boost.
00:08Sunway Healthcare Group has broken ground on an 800 million ringgit hospital in Iskandar Putri.
00:14Its first hospital in southern Malaysia, Sunway Medical Center Iskandar Putri, is targeted for completion in 2030.
00:22The comprehensive medical center will offer more than 400 beds, supported by more than 1,400 healthcare professionals and advanced
00:32medical technologies.
00:33The multi-specialty tertiary hospital will sit within Sunway Group's sprawling 2,000-acre Sunway City, Iskandar Putri Township.
00:42So what we see is that when Sunway, which is a very remarkable company, not just in Malaysia, but regionally
00:51and internationally, are willing to put in their commitment in Johor,
00:55it creates confidence not just in Johor, but in the wider business communities and investment communities.
01:02Sunway Group founder and chairman, Tan Sri Sir Dr. Jeffrey Chia, said quality healthcare was essential to sustaining Johor's growth.
01:09In Iskandar Putri, we are putting different types of businesses that we manage and we grow from KL to here.
01:21So what we did was we have the hotel, we have the schools, and then we have the shopping mall.
01:31Now I think it's time to put up the medical center, which I think is very timely.
01:38Meanwhile, Sunway Healthcare Group president, Datuk Lau Benglong, said the hospital would serve communities across southern Malaysia,
01:47as well as international patients from Indonesia and Singapore.
01:50So it's an increasing percentage that we are seeing because of the high level of care, but at the same
01:56time, a very cost-effective level relative to, say, Singapore and other different countries.
02:03So in my personal view, Johor's location is just as ideal as for local and connect.
02:20So in terms of financial auctions, if you're not thinking of a thing, what we are seeing in the world,
02:25we've seen in the world and what it is doing.
02:25So we're seeing the land of 1961, and we've seen some of the local restaurants within the region.
