00:27Were you surprised at how well she was able to wrestle with the broken hand against Mercedes?

00:44One had a broken hand and the other, like, after two minutes, broke her face completely.

00:58But that was one of the most insane pieces of art I've ever seen.

01:09I'm not going to underestimate Willow because she wrestled an insane match with one healthy hand.

01:32I mean, me being me, I used to knock people just the f*** out because it was like, you know,
01:37it was just like stone.

01:42But it's weirdly, it's easier than one might think to wrestle with a broken hand.
01:49Not that it doesn't f***ing hurt like hell, because it does.
01:53But it's doable.

01:59Were you at all disappointed to hear that Mercedes wasn't cleared and that you may have to wait, you know,

02:05I'm sure it's one you're, you know, maybe looking forward to getting just first time one-on-one with someone
02:11who's in as high regard, who's as held in high regard as she is.
02:14Yeah, I was a little disappointed.
02:17But, you know, I mean, when you're a pro, you can't be too disappointed.
02:20That's just the nature of her business, kind of.
02:24But I felt like we had a good thing going when she, you know, came out and had her big
02:29celebration with her, you know, cute broken nose.
02:33And, you know, I sh***ed all over her parade.
02:35And I was like, yeah, this is going to be fun, you know.
02:38I could already see, like, how we were going to let this story escalate.
02:43So, yeah, it's always a bummer when you start something good and then you have to stop it.
02:50But, hey, I mean, you know, we're all still here.
02:54And, you know, one door closes and another one opens.
02:57And I think it's a great opportunity for me and Willow, as you said, to, you know, let things escalate
03:05a little, you know, make it a forever feud.
03:08And when it is time for you and Mercedes, do you think someone has to have at least some shades
03:15of baby face?
03:16Because heel versus heel is kind of hard to do.
03:21I mean, I think next to Mercedes, I'm the good guy and I'll leave it at that.

03:30Could you get that sense that the audience felt that way, too, with kind of the reaction to your side
03:35of promos when you were going back and forth?
03:38Yeah.

03:40But I was just in the right position for that, too.

03:56And the people just got very excited when, you know, when they see me come out with a red cup

04:10And somehow, I don't know how it always happens, but somehow people, you know, get behind me when I'm at

04:21What do you think it's been that's kind of, you know, allowed the audience to really kind of connect with

04:26You think some of it's just that feeling like we don't know what she's going to say or do at
04:30any moment that we have to pay attention?
04:33Yeah, I think it's definitely the unpredictability.
04:39Like, you never know what my next step is going to be, my next move.
04:45That's mostly because I don't know what my next move is going to be.

04:51Sometimes I black out and then I just go for, like, I go freestyle and that's when it gets really
04:56interesting, but also could go sideways any minute.
04:59But that kind of excitement is what people like, you know, it's like, I think it's what what this what
05:06our industry is based on, you know, it's just that crazy people trying to beat the out of each other.
05:12And I and I'm I'm like that.
05:15I'm actually like I'm just a little insane.
05:18I think, you know, how did you feel about not having a match at all?
05:22And it sounded like you enjoyed your time off, but it felt like how did you feel and were you
05:26happy to see fans not happy that you weren't there?
05:31Yes.
05:31And yes.
05:32And yeah, it was it was also, again, about being a pro, you know, you got to you got to
05:39just take things the way they are and and be cool with whatever happens.
05:45And I I tried to get into a mindset where I didn't want to be greedy anyways, because I've had
05:51a tremendous 2026 and the great 2025, too.
05:56So some part of me was obviously upset because it's Wembley and it's in front of almost 50,000 people
06:03in Europe, which I haven't even remotely done, you know, and it would have been obviously the biggest, biggest gig
06:11of my life so far.
06:12But it's also I like that I'm still on the chase.
06:15I don't I don't like having anything in front of me that I that I'm, you know, that I got
06:20to follow up on, you know, like, I know I can do it.
06:24But have I been able to prove it?
06:26Not yet.
06:26And I like that.

06:57And I and I think fans are somehow more enamored than they've ever been.
07:03You know, I got a lot of sympathy for for that moment.

07:10No, when WWE does, you know, run Worlds Collide up against this event and you guys, you know, sell out
07:17as quickly as you did without too many matches shown, too many matches announced.
07:23Does that just show how healthy the AEW, you know, product is now that that even when there's, you know,
07:29maybe outside forces trying to push against it, that that it's in such a good place right now that that's
07:34hard to do?
07:36Absolutely. I think but Tony Khan is just so like on it and he knows stats and he knows his
07:43moves and he's really he's very he's very competitive.
07:47And I really like that about him, actually, you know, because he's such a such a nice guy behind the
07:52scenes, but he really wants his product to be a number one and he wants himself to be the Booker
07:58of the Year and shit.
07:59You know, that means he's got to work very hard and and and and his how do you say his
08:06confidence?
08:07It's it's it shines through, you know, it's it's like how do you say we we we see it on
08:14him and we start having it, too.
08:16You know, like none of us are are or I like to think that we don't really believe ourselves to
08:22be the underdog anymore.
08:24So but it's it's also hey, it's a it's it's it's always been good for business if there's two rivals,
08:31you know, it's it's it's always been good.
08:33I don't know what the what the what the problem is like tribalism.
08:36Yeah, people are weird online and and outside, too.

08:48Is there either a match during your title run that you're proud of or or another one?
08:54The one that stood out to me is just having a strap match with Statlander because that's it's it's just
09:00a rare thing for women to get to do that.
09:03Was that one special or is there something else that stood out?
09:06That is actually my favorite match.
09:08I think the strap match I had with with Chris was really was really fun.
09:13And that's really it's where my brain also goes like, well, you know, it's it's really my creative brain just
09:19goes like, well, how, you know, what can we do?
09:22Because it's already it's hard.
09:23You got to be careful.

09:25There's a bunch of that can go wrong, you know, but when you nail it and when you do it,
09:29well, it tells a really good story.
09:31So that one is, I think, my favorite so far in AW.

09:48opponent for the right, you know, maybe one off story?
09:55I think I am a baby face somehow, but I'm also not, you know, I just I think I think

10:09So but then again, standing next to Mercedes, there would be no question who's a baby face.

11:08percent me and Mercedes are going to going to beat the out of each other in a big match at
11:12some point.
11:13You know, and depending on Saturday, how Saturday goes, me and Willow might be, as I said, something that will
11:20that will be a back and forth for the ages.
11:24You know, if I get her on Saturday, she'll probably get me somewhere down the line.
11:28You know, that's just how it's how it's going to be.
11:31So, yeah, let's rock and roll.
11:34You know, I hope Mercedes heals up and unbreaks her face soon.
11:41And, you know, I like it when everybody's healthy and ready to ready to roll.
11:47And Saturday, I know what's going to happen.
11:51I think a lot of people know what's going to happen, but we got to see.
