00:00look i think the reality is that they're sort of it it's a standstill because the reality is
00:05china is not going to slow up when it comes to ai and neither is the u.s i think
00:10you kind of come
00:11at this is sort of shrug the shoulders moment i don't think it's really going to move the needle
00:15that much i think the the reality is for jensen nvidia the big focus is like when could you
00:20actually start selling chips into china because by not selling chips in the china that actually
00:26strengthens the china tech ecosystem and actually helps them narrow the gap but for the first time
00:32in 30 years u.s is ahead of china when it comes tech why do you think with a little
00:36bit of hindsight
00:37now that we had mr dario mr altman talk about and put on paper uh some of their concerns i
00:45mean you
00:45get to the top floor and then you pull the ladder up okay i i look the reality is is
00:52that and you
00:52see what's happened with meadow and muse no one's gonna stop right so the point is is that there's
00:58a regulatory capture moment now some of it is like there are real safety issues and that has to allow
01:05this can be self-regulated but the industry i think very quickly and i think jensen the dell and others
01:13i think they really spoke how many in the industry view it is like can't put genie back in the
01:18bottle
01:18and just because you're at the top doesn't mean that we're slowing down because how do you narrow
01:23the gap and i think that's why that essay that dario did that probably add about 20 percent to
01:30meta stock because that was probably the best in there that was almost like a birthday cake for
01:35zuckerberg so this is this is performative this oh we need to slow things down we need to pace
01:40development we need to think twice before we move forward look i think there's some of it that's
01:46like there is because the technology is going at warp speed but it keeps coming down and this is the
01:53number one thing if they slow down china is not slowing down beijing will just double that who wins
02:01china wins every data center that gets shut down based on you know vote in the town or the municipality
02:08that's ultimately a loss for the u.s a win for china you could argue that they're going to move
02:13to
02:13different states in terms of from a data center perspective but i think it's something where
02:18that that backfired relative to the s and i think pretty quickly right if you go back to the weekend
02:24people like black monday this is going to be the zet very and myself included is like no nothing this
02:31is not going to affect one dollar of capex to some extent it's why software is significantly
02:36outperform because if they given that it gives them the moment to narrow the gap and that's why
02:42i think software will continue to outperform what we're seeing so what is the how should people be
02:49thinking about the ai story because midterm elections are coming up and this is taking on a political
02:54aspect too so how are you gonna how do you handicap that if you're an investor do you just follow
02:59the
02:59economics follow the money look i think the problem is that when the grandstanding and the political
03:05in the beltway and like you know you don't want politicians that are using flip phones and
03:09blackberries to be the ones ultimately defining our technology you know infrastructure but it's a huge
03:17issue when it comes to midterms but tech companies themselves have ultimately they're they've created
03:25this pr black eye because if you tell everyone we're gonna cut we're gonna 50 percent of white collar
03:32jobs we're gonna take away with ai which is the fictional narrative and then ultimately electricity
03:37bills are going to go higher why would people be like jumping up and down oh we can't wait till
03:42we
03:42get a data center so now they're trying to change that narrative but it is a risk but we assume
03:4810 to
03:4915 percent of data centers ultimately get voted down if it's something more significant that would be
03:54clearly a negative when it comes to tech all right i'm looking at meta shares currently up about
03:591.6 today and on monday of course banner day up 11 on muse you've checked out muse what do
04:06you think
04:06about it it's phenomenal and it comes down to those that counted zuckerberg out relative like spending
04:14money like a 1980s rockstar on catbacks you're not seeing this you're not seeing the results you have
04:19three and a half billion users they now llama wasn't right but when you look at muse it for the
04:24mainstream
04:26i think it's a game changer and it just goes back to the models are going to get more and
04:32more
04:32competitive anthropic open ai clearly it's two horse race where they are at the top but what met has done
04:38here i think it's seismic for the ai
