00:00So we're a couple days into London Fashion Week.
00:02These are some of the street style trends starting to emerge right now.
00:04The first trend I've really started to notice a lot of in London is leather midi skirts.
00:08So these are falling below the knee and they're generally on the sort of structured, more
00:12tailored side.
00:12Color-wise, I'm seeing them mostly in blacks or like very dark browns.
00:16But what I love about this is that it feels so London.
00:19So obviously the leather is a very hardy, very practical fabrication.
00:22But it's got this real elevated kind of glamorous energy by means of that beautiful glossy finish.
00:27Styling-wise, I'm seeing people contrast it with knits and wools to bring in that beautiful
00:32dimension and texture.
00:33But then I'm also really loving it worn with an animal print, which I'm seeing a lot of
00:36specifically Dalmatian prints.
00:38Such an easy, fun way to make the leather feel a bit more glamorous.
00:42Now, I don't always spot jeans during Fashion Week, but this time around I'm noticing a
00:45lot of bootcut jeans.
00:46So these have got this real subtle kind of flair that just is enough to give a bit of a
00:50sculptural
00:51look to an outfit.
00:52I think it's these really small, very intentional details that really resonate with Londonist
00:56and that's why their outfits always look so polished and understated, but just that bit
01:00more put together.
01:01A little subtle styling swap I've noticed this week is that fashion people in London
01:05are sort of ditching their white t-shirts and tank tops and instead they're wearing
01:08striped tees.
01:09So styling-wise, they're wearing them in the same way you would wear a white t-shirt with
01:12jeans, with trousers, with shorts.
01:13But instead, these stripes are often rendered in colours, so you've got this hit of energy
01:17and colour.
01:17But then also the stripe gives it a bit of dimension, a little bit of interest.
01:20It's just a really fun, easy way to energise your outfits.
