00:21I've always wanted to work with Alejandro. I saw his first film that came out even before it was released.
00:26He's one of one. He is truly exceptional, as you see with this film, in every single way.
00:36And the character is so outrageous. I've never read, let alone seen, let alone had the privilege to be able
00:45to bring a character like this to the screen.
00:47I can't believe that it's there on screen now.
00:54So, I play Lina, who is Digger's long-suffering assistant. I think she's deeply professional.
01:01I think she's sort of committed to professionalism, but is trying to do her job in increasingly ridiculous circumstances.
01:11Yeah, and as such becomes kind of increasingly ridiculous.
01:15Well, I saw it on the biggest screen that I could find and it was so exciting and like a
01:21new, to me, a new experience of cinema.
01:24The friends I had with me sat there with open mouths, like looking at it like, and these are people
01:29who go to the cinema regularly.
01:30So, I think it is meant to be, to be experienced there, yeah.
01:37Alejandro is a world builder, and that's how it felt for us as actors, and I think that's how it's
01:42going to feel for audiences.
01:44He just pulls you in, this beautiful, beautiful, constructed world, and he's done that with everything.
01:51Whether it's Birdman, whether it's Revenant, whether it's Amoris Peros, and the world he's created here is unlike any other
01:57you've been to before.
01:58I've heard a lot of people come out of this film say, I've never seen anything like it.
02:02So, that's just what he does.
02:04We all kind of learned about the story we were telling together, and those guys are the best playmates one
02:11could ever ask for, really.
02:13So much fun, so generous, so full of surprises, so I'm game for all of them.
02:18I think I was just blown away by everything that he does.
02:22I mean, he's such a thorough and meticulous director, and I was just amazed by his capacity to really have
02:31a grasp over every single aspect of a frame.
02:33Like, you know, this is a big film, and there's so much going on in the composition, and he's just
02:39like, there's people in the far background, and he'd be giving notes.
02:41You know, it's funny, we all mainly saw him in his full Digger makeup and costume, or like various phases
02:53of it.
02:55So, it was strange how normal that became, and then, you know, we'd go out to dinner as a cast
03:01or whatever, and see him as Tom Cruise, and it was really jarring to remember.
03:07Because it was just like, that's crazy Digger, you know?
03:12I think the people will talk a lot about it, so I mean, I think there's no one take.
03:17This is a film about storytelling, and the stories we tell ourselves, and how we would like to be, basically,
03:27how we will, how we will, what stories we are telling of ourselves and the world.
03:33And there's so many that the people will take different possible ways to take this same story, and that's what
03:39I like about it.
03:40It was a pleasure to go to work every day.
03:44It was a great experience, and I really miss these guys, because we had a good time.
