04:16Now, we're going to start off with your thoughts with what is happening with the SOB, Special Operations Bill.

04:24So, the Special Operations Bill, it is released also in a new form and it required a simple majority which
04:34means that the civil liberties of citizens is not at risk.
04:40With the SOE, you find you had to be always looking to ensure that you strike that balance between what
04:49was taking place and the citizens' rights to certain rights.
04:57So, my thought on it was that we need, I've always said this, I said it with the school's kids,
05:05we needed a firm stance.
05:07In order to fight crime, you need a firm stance.
05:10You need strong measures.
05:12Yes.
05:12I know the communities have been to every single one of those hot zones.
05:18We've searched in those hot zones.
05:20And what is required really is a better strength to get law and order in those communities.
05:28And at the same time, balancing the citizens' liberties.
05:33So, I saw this morning that they had to apply, you know, if there's a special operation in a particular
05:40area.
05:40Well, they call it a closed area.
05:43And it's a closed area, you need to get a permit.
05:45That, that, that, that, that I had some concerns about that.
05:50Because I'll tell you this, sir.
05:52I think they need to do some more work and explain that to the public.
05:56But I'll tell you why something.
05:58When you go into these communities, the vast majority of these persons are law-abiding citizens.

07:14But we need to understand what is causing the, it's the core issue here in Trinidad and Tobito to combat
07:21that.
07:21But I am all for trying.
07:23Yeah, you have to.
07:24The government is trying to figure out, yes.
07:26But we need some clarification.
07:28And you need to keep trying until the issue gets resolved.
07:31I mean, I will tell you, I drove through Tivoli Gardens in Jamaica.

07:38And as a community, a garrison community, a gangster community.
07:43And I, I, I drove through.
07:45There was an understood.
07:46And so, you know, there's, there's success in Jamaica with similar type operations.
07:51But you must keep trying.

07:53As we continue trying, Captain, we continue with more of what is happening in our country.
07:59Now, a murder in Mayaro as a man was ambushed in a bar.
08:03And this was a sad situation to witness here, Captain.

08:07So, Whitney, I was on a search in Sandy Grande.
08:09Yes.
08:10The, the Saturday morning.
08:11And here you could see a fracker outside one of the popular supermarkets on the Guaguari
08:17road in, in St. Anne's village, Mayaro.
08:21Yes.
08:21And, um, I learned of the, the, the, the murder and I stopped at the family home.
08:26And I, I, I rarely, I, when the family, his sister spoke to me and told me what took place.
08:31I said, oh my gosh.
08:33As a, a fracker like this, it ended up in, um, him being stabbed multiple times in the
08:40neck and chest included.
08:42And then he succumbed to his injuries at the Mayaro hospital.
08:47It's a family that I know well.
08:49And, uh, when I heard of it, I was on the way to Mayaro from Sandy Grande and I stopped
08:54in.
08:55But, um, condolences to the family, especially his sister, Carissa, who spoke to me on my
09:01way up and, um, you know, I hope you all get justice in this matter.
09:06Because he collapsed there.
09:07He was stabbed before we picked up, but this is where, like, he succumbed to his injuries.
09:11Yeah.
09:12This is not something, I mean, any family will want to see.
09:15And, and it took place, it started outside a bar in Mayaro.
09:18And, um, you know, these young men, they ought to be careful.
09:21I mean, consuming alcohol, have your, your, your disagreements, but it should not end in.

09:27He has a three-year-old daughter.
09:29He has a three-year-old daughter.
09:30So, condolences going out to the family, and, um, on behalf of Beyond the Keep.
09:36And, um, you know, we hope you all get justice in this matter.

09:40Now, that was sentence Mayaro that that took place.

09:42And there was another incident that took place in sentence.
09:45Right.
09:46This morning.
09:46All right.
09:47Now, he, and that was Sunday morning.
09:49My apologies.
09:50Now, a sentence man was shot and killed yesterday in what police described as a gang-related ambush
09:55involving two masked men dressed in what appeared to be police tactical gear.
10:00Now, the victim has been identified as Derek Buku, and his alias is Krempo.
10:07All right.
10:08Police said that around 10.15 a.m.
10:11Buku and a relative were heading south along Simon Road St. Anne's in Buku's Hyundai Accent.
10:19When a white Ford Focus stopped in front of them at the corner, two marksmen dressed in what appeared
10:27to be operational police wear, then exited the vehicle armed with assault rifles.
10:31The men opened fire on the accent, striking Buku several times in the chest, neck, and head.
10:38He was killed on the spot.
10:40His relative, who was seated in the front passenger seat, was also injured, but police
10:46said the injuries were caused by shattered glass.
10:50Investigators said a total of 61 shots were fired during the attack.
10:55After the shooting, the two men returned to the Ford Focus and drove off.
11:01Buku's relative, that is, exited the vehicle while neighbors contacted the police.
11:07Officers from the Belmont Police Station responded and found Buku's body slumped in the driver's seat.
11:13Police are continuing investigations into the circumstances surrounding the killing.

11:48Really this morning on my morning show, a gentleman called and said he was happy to see the
11:53presence of the police and soldiers by Grand Bazaar.

11:59So, you know, they felt safe, they felt comfortable, you know, seeing the presence there.
12:04A job well done to the officers and let's see how this could take us further as well.
12:08A strategic intervention for police visibility, which is part of crime fighting.
12:13People generally feel safer when they see the presence of the officers around.

12:19Now let's head to Tobago, Captain, because, I mean, I don't know how many times we will discuss
12:26this because this was a really sad incident because they stated our Tobago boat collision
12:31that left prisons injured at the Pigeon Point beach.
12:34And this here is where we always say top people, Captain, on the water.
12:40They seem like they could do what they want, how they want, when they want.
12:43Yes, I've spoken at Nostiam on this program about safety.
12:47But, you know, we have to note that there have been incidents at the Pigeon Park, Pigeon Point
12:54Heritage Park.
12:56They are beach-backed.
12:57Crazy.
12:57These marine recreational environments or sites, they must be intensely regulated.

13:05And what I saw posted by Assemblyman Zoraisha Hackett, she indicated that, you know, there
13:13has to be legislation to govern the operation of these marine recreational sites, both in
13:23Trinidad and Tobago.
13:25And also that, you know, you need, I know they need money for trading, for development
13:33of the, you know, certain things.
13:35Some of these things require money, but it is top priority now.
13:40Hear me out quickly.
13:41The persons who are riding or driving these Pirogs or these little boats, are they certified?
13:48Do they have insurance on these vessels?
13:51Insurance, and do they have a license to operate?
13:53Yes.
13:54And I think these are the things she spoke about and says, and she stated clearly, these
14:00things must be done immediately.
14:02And I support what she said because this morning before she spoke, I wrote on our Facebook page
14:08that you need the legislation right away and you need to operationalize, you need licensing,
14:17you need training, and you need enforcement.
14:19And one of my favorite beaches in Tobago, Pigeon Point.

14:22Second incident happened there, Captain.
14:24And there's not only two, and there have been others.
14:26No, this was just reported, highlighted.
14:28And then also in the area of the No Man's Land, where you have a lot of boat parties and

14:36You need to implement the regulations to address that.
14:39Now, I support marine recreational activities as a form of sport, as a form of leisure.
14:47However, you have to do so in a safe manner at all times.

15:24And they stopped and they decided that they were going to try to find the source of this
15:30false stench.

15:32And they came across this abandoned guard booth.
15:34Well, it wasn't really abandoned.
15:36And, yeah, they found a body inside there and it was determined to be a female.
15:41Now, when we spoke to residents in the area, they told us that there was a lady.
15:47Her name is Marcia Thomas Singh.
15:49And I spoke to her relative and they said that she used to live in the United States
15:54or abroad.
15:56She had a drug addiction issue there.
15:59She came back to Trinidad.
16:00She didn't try to go back.
16:02She returned and she set up houses.
16:05The guy said it was a neatly put away security boot.
16:10But it seems as if she would have probably died in her sleep.
16:14The door to the guard boot was secured from inside.
16:19So there was no forced entry.
16:22So she protected herself.
16:22No, of course.
16:23It was the cause of that.
16:24It seems so.
16:25Everything seems to point in that.
16:26No foul play.
16:27No foul play involved.
16:29But, you know, we have to ask our viewers, you know, when you're driving, be alert.
16:33But, you know, more than once we got bodies by people reporting for ostentions, right?

17:13He has been missing since the 7th of September.
17:17Now, Edmond does work on an estate and he was seen leaving home to go to the estate to work.
17:27We found a chair.
17:29We found a bag with some coconut plants.
17:32We found a gas pan.
17:36And this is the second day we went out there.
17:39We've been there on two occasions.
17:41And all our searches have been not yielded anything.
17:46Yes.
17:47This is the bag with the coconut as its chair, the gas pan there.
17:51We found those things.
17:52And we're not sure what eventually happened or where he is, but we have to continue searching for him.
17:59But we spent the entire day Saturday.
18:02And I want to tell you this.
18:03We arrived there at 8 a.m. the morning.
18:07And we left about 4 p.m. thinking.
18:10As the entire day.
18:10Thinking we were going home after a day in that hot sun.

18:15We went on another search right after this one.

19:03The police under Sergeant Warwick of the Canopia Police Station, brought in the task force and they took over.
19:14I know that there are two adults in custody, but Brittany remains missing.

19:34We believe that she is in the company of an adult.
19:37We know his name, but we have not been able to find the location.

20:23And so, one was left behind.
20:26And this is since Saturday midday.
20:29And so, Vishnu Passat is still missing and lost in the forest there.
20:35But I want to tell you this.
20:37We went in that night.
20:38And we came out at 2 a.m.
20:41We did a long search.
20:43We walked.
20:44We walked.
20:45And there was no arrest from the last search.
20:47There was no arrest from the last search.
20:49There was no arrest from the early search in the early end of the day.
20:51From 8 a.m.
20:52Yes.
20:52So, Whitney, we began searching the guys who...
20:58were with him.
20:59They went with us.
21:01Two of them.
21:02And we searched an entire area.
21:05And then today, the team went in with the soldiers.
21:09The Trinidad and Tobago Regiment.
21:11And the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service.
21:14And I'm waiting for an update.
21:17But I know, just before I came on the program, that Vishnu Passat still has not been located.
21:24But we want to appeal to the residents in the Tableland District.

26:09loutan and her relatives indicated to us that her mental health is compromised she was living abroad
26:16she returned home and that she just packed a suitcase and walked out in front of her both her
26:23parents and walked down the steps and headed street vehicle the parents are very concerned and they
26:31they they know that their their daughter is ill and they need to get that comfort in knowing that she's
26:38in a safe place um so if you know ishana loutan or if you spot her please call the st

26:46now please our our team at 799-1453 or 999-555 and then i spoke earlier about philip edmond and
26:57um i just
26:59want to see this about philip edmond his he he he lives in the uh guayko tamana uh road in

29:53the person on the team who is handling it um they will probably update me late me later tonight so

30:00we're still asking residents around you know him keep an eye out for him and then we have our auntie
30:08no not our auntie we have gabriel nathaniel thomas his family relatives are very concerned um they indicated
30:17that he was uh went out with a friend and the friend is saying they dropped him back to his
30:23home
30:23um they did not see him return home that day on the 16th of september 2026 and therefore they're very
30:34concerned about him being missing now i did receive a call with me quickly um from a prison officer he
30:42said
30:43he had a he had a fine to pay and they held him for one day but the mother indicated
30:48she went and paid
30:50that so okay there's something going around that he's in prison i just want to quell that right away
30:54that is not true the fine was paid and he was released so if you know gabriel nathaniel thomas

32:20currently in the forest still looking for him but i think um by 6 p.m this evening it will

32:26probably no 12 tonight will have probably made 24 48 hours yes so we have to keep our fingers
32:34crossed that we could get them alive is a fast it's a huge piece of force yes as we mentioned

36:30Now, Captain, I understand you were able to see and hear about the Flip the Script initiative
36:36that the TTPS has brought forth in the schools throughout Trinidad and Tobago.
36:41And because of that, your entire team decided to join the initiative as well. What is happening?
36:46It is not really the team. Let me explain to you. Yes, let me hear.
36:50So, I know, but it is not I heard. I heard it. Yes.
36:54About Flip the Script, right? But there is a Haunting group in Trinidad and Tobago
36:58that carries the name Academy at the end. Unstoppable Haunting Academy.
37:04When this group was started by its president, Pravi Maraj, and he told me the name of the group,
37:11I said, that's a strange name for a Haunting group. He said, Captain, I want to begin to train all
37:17the
37:17youngsters. And they surprised me on the weekend because they knew about Flip the Script and they
37:24thought that they would send something in with Flip the Script and talk about, you know, what they do.
37:33And it is important, very, very important that we broadcast to Trinidad and Tobago Flip the Script.
37:41Because, you know, it is again, it is a strategy, but it's directed to us adults and us adults to
37:53engage our
37:54youth and try and take them in the correct direction. And that's why I like Unstoppable Haunting
38:01Teachers Academy, the first Haunting group that carries the word Academy in it.
38:07Well, with that being said, let's take a look. Yeah, sure.
38:10Flip the Script, Unstoppable Hauntings Academy supports the Trinidad and Tobago Police Service Youth
38:16Initiative. Flip the Script, we genuinely believe that positive work with our youth will eventually
38:21contribute to enabling national pride, positive behaviors, and better citizens. Our group has been
38:27engaging our youth continuously in events to create positive messaging and behaviors. Supported by a group
38:34of hardworking adults, our youth has engaged in tree planting, beach cleanups, and other events.
38:39We reward their participation as a mean of motivation. The responsibility to more and grow future
38:45generations is our task. We do so continuously as a group of adults. Unstoppable Hauntings Academy
38:52remains committed to the growth and development of the human resource capabilities of Trinidad and Tobago.
39:00So this is the Unstoppable Hunters Academy. You have different hunting groups, right? And they all come
39:07under an umbrella called the Hunters Association of Trinidad and Tobago. And what is happening,
39:16and you know that with all the hunting groups now, they're doing really, really great work in Trinidad and
39:21Tobago. And this type of work was never done before. We have new generational leaders, transformational
39:28leaders, leaders who understand how our society functions and understand how they can contribute to the
39:35growth and development of Trinidad and Tobago. And so we have to comment this group because they've been
39:40working exceedingly hard with their youths. And I tell you what, I was invited to a certificate
39:48presentation ceremony to present their young members with certificates. So you know the whole question of
39:55you know motivation and encouragement is included and it's all wrapped up well. But I'll tell you
40:02something, more groups endeavor to do these type of activities. I think at the end of the day,
40:10we will need stringent measures. We'll have a generation that will understand what is needed to have a better
40:19Trinidad and Tobago. Yes, and I hope that the younger ones who are watching, you saw that the young ones
40:25were also involved. They paid attention and understood the importance of getting their peers involved as
40:30well, which was a plus to see. And I'm sure there are other young people who will want to start
40:36a group,
40:36and it may not just be a hunting group, but other groups within your school that you can form.
40:42And as citizens, we call it civic society, we have the power to change. We have the power to change
40:51behaviors in our country. It's not the government to do it. It's not the Trinidad to do police service.
40:57It is us as civil society who has to take charge and point the country youth in a particular direction.
41:05Now, some days are way before we celebrate our republic, so that is a beautiful initiative.
41:11I love that one. If I tell you, flip the script, I loved it. When I first heard it, I
41:17don't know if our head of
41:18communications in Sachi had anything, but I want to commend the team there for developing it. It is appropriate and
41:28it could engender a lot of activities, spin-off activities with youth in communities. And
41:38you did a great job in just igniting that flame. You see how this group responded. I was shocked when
41:45I received the video.
41:46So they received the information with all the parents telling them, so they already know what
41:49is going on. So thumbs up and round of applause. Let's give it to the Unstoppable
41:54Hunters Academy. Yeah? For a job well done, keep up the fantastic work that you're doing.

47:53School and hear your concerns. And if it is that predial lacinie is one of your big concerns, speak
48:01about it. And you know, after the meeting, I'm sure the persons who are there conducting the meeting
48:09will take note and make the necessary interventions to secure your life and your livelihood.
48:15Yes. And remember, we get ready to open the phone lines once again for persons to connect with us,
48:21but let's connect with what's going on with the outreach. And I know this is something close to
48:26you because you see more young people being involved. And Whitney, we are having tremendous
48:31success and progress with the two of them as your college, she's called son. I don't know if you
48:37recall. We took them by a blitz in the castle forest. Yes, I remember. And this is a classroom session
48:44we have. But it's bigger. I would tell you the objective. The objective is at the end of our
48:50training with them, they would be able to enter any vegetative area in Trinidad and Tobago and be able
48:57to navigate it with confidence and overcome any challenges. We did a lot of work with safety in
49:05the forest and use of proper equipment. And everything is about safety and how you navigate the harsh
49:14terrain in some areas, you know, safely. I'm an old man and I haven't had an injury, thank God, and
49:24not
49:24as much as a slight torn in my hand. I don't hold things when I'm walking. And all of this
49:31is involved in
49:33the training exercises for these young boys. So I want to congratulate the scout leaders.
49:41To the boys, C Scouts leader, Shamit Mohamed, doing an excellent job with it. If we replicate this in
49:51every community, in every little space, in every little area and look at training for young men and
49:58point them in a particular direction, think about it, we could change Trinidad and Tobago. We could
50:03all change Trinidad and Tobago if we really want to. It's only when it falls in our garden and we
50:08realize, oh my gosh, it's here. You need to do something. Let's hear about it. But if it's not
50:12disturbing me and my peace, I could care less. Exactly. And we shouldn't be like that. We shouldn't be like
50:18that.
50:18So we're seeing more and more young persons stepping forward. And it is clear to me,
50:22Captain, that I think with those who are being involved, like the TTPS and other private stakeholders,
50:29that we really listen to our young men and young women. Reason being, they have ideas.
50:36Yeah. Yeah? That could assist. Right. And there is a generational gap, a wider gap than
50:44existed previously because of the technology. All right? All young people are smart. Very brilliant.
50:54And the extent to which they could contribute is immense. And that gap, because they're excellent
51:02in the technology and innovative and creative, they could help, they could assist. And yeah,
51:08we need to hear from them what they think. And they are really the catalyst for change in the country.
51:17So what we could also push out there, Captain, especially for the different schools,
51:22the principals, is find a way where you could communicate with the young ones in the school
51:27and persons who may want to start certain clubs and let someone spearhead that club and be the one
51:34who is now going to manage that, form the group, give a reason why the school needs it. Because that's
51:40a form of when you're working in the real world, right? When you have to put pen to paper in
51:45cases like
51:46this, you'll have to put your fingers to a computer or iPad to type up whatever, but it's starting something.
51:52Yeah, I agree with you. Education has to change as well the way we educate our young children.
51:58It's not just about sitting in a classroom and then choke and talk and call it.
