00:24and she was shot in the back with a type of pellet frequently used by police
00:28at the time to disperse demonstrators.
00:31Subsequently, her family became embroiled in a lengthy legal battle with the Interior Ministry.
00:37According to their lawyer, the family received the compensation,
00:40which was around 300,000 Egyptian pounds, that's less than 6,000 US dollars,
00:46last week despite a court ordering it back in 2023.
00:50Following her death, Sabah became a symbol of Egyptian activism.
