00:01Yemen's Houthis have told Washington that they would not attack U.S. vessels in the Red Sea.
00:07Their announcement came after reports that the U.S. canceled its planned strikes on the group
00:11at the last minute. A senior Houthi official confirmed that besides the U.S., the group was
00:17also not targeting any other nation in the strait, with the exception of Saudi Arabia.
00:22The group said it will continue attacks against its neighbor until Riyadh ends its decade-long
00:27blockade on Houthi-held areas in Yemen and allows vessels to reach Red Sea ports controlled by the
00:33group. Only then will it be ready to negotiate. On Sunday, U.S. President Donald Trump pulled back
00:40from striking the Houthis at the last minute, just hours after deciding to target the Iran-backed
00:45group following a call with Saudi Arabia's crown prince. The U.S. has sent mixed signals to its
00:50ally Saudi Arabia since the Houthi offensive began in July. According to U.S. media reports,
00:55Washington last week refused Saudi requests to strike the Houthis. And Trump said last weekend
01:01his administration had discussions with the Houthis but did not say when.
