00:12Last week, a young researcher quit one of the world's top AI companies and warned that these companies are gambling

00:20And there's a 10% probability that AI might destroy humanity by the end of next decade.
00:26Is that a new thing really?
00:28Actually, even if AI were to develop a motive like that, that motive would actually be copied from humans.
00:39That is not a new motive that AI is developing for itself.
00:45If AI develops a center of inner violence, violence towards others and preservation of itself,
00:56is that a new thing really?
00:59That is something that has existed in humans since ancient times.
01:07And if we have not been afraid of ourselves and this world of humans around us,
01:14what is the new, special, and extraordinarily alarming need to be afraid of AI now?
01:23If AI is going to be dangerous, that danger is just a replica of the danger our species has been
01:32carrying within itself since its inception.
01:36Like we are already infected, right?
01:38Think of someone carrying heavy viral load of some infection and now this person comes and says,
01:45you know what, that camera is known to be infected with the same virus.
01:50Is it going to be fatal now?
01:52Should I be terrified?
01:54Should you be terrified of the camera yourself?
01:57You have been carrying that same virus within yourself since the beginning of evolution.
02:03That virus is called selfhood, ego.
02:07Even when you say that you are afraid of AI getting a sentient, we talk of AGI, we talk of
02:15super consciousness.
02:17You know in plain terms what that means?
02:19That simply means that you are afraid of AI developing an ego.
02:24AI developing a sense of self.
02:27That's what you are afraid of.
02:28And that to me is quite interesting because if the ego is something you are so scared of in a
02:34machine,
02:35how is it that you are not afraid of the same ego when it exists in your own physical apparatus?
