In a swift response, wildlife authorities in Kenya successfully extricated a giraffe that had a tire ensnared around its neck. Footage captured by Shazaad Kasmani documents the team's efforts as they located the giraffe, sedated it, and removed the tire. Kasmani recalled, "We received a report about a giraffe at a wildlife sanctuary sporting an unusual item around its neck. Upon reaching the site, we found Suzie, the giraffe, with a discarded tire. After a lengthy afternoon of tracking her on foot, our veterinary team was able to dart and sedate Suzie to efficiently take off the tire. She also received care for the injuries caused by the tire. Thankfully, she has fully recovered since the incident." This event took place in October 2019.
