00:00And this main event, too, a lot of times there's manufactured rage in this world, and fighters will sort of,
00:05you know, fake it to try to hype it up, but there really is no love lost.
00:11Like, these two dudes do not like each other, and I saw Joshua Vance say yesterday that if the same
00:21thing happens, if Patoja walks into it, he goes, I literally want to break his arm again.
00:27He goes, I want to break his arm, which is, you know, that's just, you know, mean-spirited, but their
00:32press conference is, like I said, you can sort of tell when it's real and when it's fake and stuff,
00:36and these two generally do hate each other, and the fight is nearly a pick-em, so you can't top
00:41that, right?
00:42You got two great fighters, the fight is nearly a pick-em, all you got to do is pick a
00:47side and, you know, pick which, you know, which flag you want to carry into the cage here.
00:52Me personally, Tom, and I hope that you agree with me, but me personally, I just can't get in front
00:58of Joshua Vance.
01:00I know Patoja is, you know, whatever would happen in that fight, he's coming off the injury here, but for
01:05me, Vance, I think he is the rightful small favorite in this fight.
01:09What do you do with this fight?
01:11Yeah, I mean, the way I broke it down last time is I thought Vance was the side.
01:16He was a much bigger dog.
01:17You know, he was, well, he's a favorite now, but he was, like, a nearly two-to-one dog in
01:21that fight, but the way I saw it, I thought it would be competitive.
01:24I thought he'd be able to handle the grappling, and in the fourth and fifth rounds, I felt like Van
01:30would be the guy that had the better cardio and would push a better pace, so I have to, like,
01:37Van again here.
01:38It would be nice if he was a dog again, but, you know, he holds that belt, he's got a
01:42defense under his, he's got a title defense in his last fight, so, you know, he's a good champion.
01:48He's a young guy that really only started training about six, seven years ago at this point, so he's come
01:54a long way, very fast, and you see the improvements fight to fight.
01:58Early in his career, the grapplers were able to get him down and kind of hold him down a little
02:03bit, but now he has pretty good takedown defense.
02:06He can get taken down, but he gets up, he scrambles well, he defends the submissions, which is really the
02:11main thing he's got to defend here, is the submissions.
02:14On the feet, I think it is competitive, but Van, I do think, has the edge there, so, yeah, I
02:19like Van, and, yeah, I got to ride with him here.
02:23Now, the first fight didn't get out of the first round due to the arm injury, 26 second mark.
02:30This time around, the total is three and a half.
02:33How do you feel about this, how do you feel about this total?
02:37Point spread, five and a half, but total three and a half, and barring injury, you got to believe that
02:43this does, you know, go a little bit deep, but three and a half is, you know, sounds, three and
02:50a half, like when you're betting it over or something, it sounds like less than it actually is, guys.
02:55Like three and a half is three rounds and a half of the next round, so it's almost like really
02:59four and a half, right?
03:01When you start to get to these higher numbers, I prefer to be on the under, so to speak, but
03:04what, you know, what, what do you make of this?
03:07You expecting this fight to go the decision, or does it end in the fourth or fifth round type thing?
03:14Yeah, I think it can be a little bit sketchy with the three and a half, but three and a
03:18half is a good number.
03:19I think I expected the fight to go long last time.
03:23Obviously, there was the injury, and that's something that happens in MMA fights.
03:28But, yeah, I do think, I do think this fight probably goes long.
03:33I think it, there's a very good chance it goes to decision, and that's why I like Van.
03:38I think Van is, you know, he's going to be the better guy in the fourth and fifth rounds,
03:42and that's kind of where I expect this fight to be won.
03:46Now, you look at, you look at Joshua Van, and he doesn't strike me as the type of person either
03:50that will get,
03:53you know what I mean, will get carried away with being a champion, right?
03:57You know what I mean?
03:58I think this dude is locked in.
04:00I like just sort of his hunger and the realness, his rawness of it.
04:04You know what I mean?
04:04Like, when he throws punches, he means it, Tom.
04:07Like, you know what I'm saying?
04:09Yeah.
04:09I like just sort of the nastiness and the meanness of, like, of how he seems like a nice guy
04:14in real life,
04:15but when he gets into the cage and he starts throwing, even watching his workout videos, man,
04:20like, he just throws, like, with every punch, he means it.
04:24Some guys will just sort of throw, you know what I mean?
04:26It's like, hey, I'm throwing.
04:28I mean, I'm racking volume up.
04:29This dude doesn't throw for volume.
04:31Like, every punch he throws, he's trying to kill you.
04:35Yeah.
04:35And he is doing this sport as a pure fighter.
04:41I mean, he's not a fan of the sport.
04:43He didn't even know who Mighty Mouse was when they asked him about him, you know, a few months back.
04:47Yeah, you're right.
04:47He's not an NCAA guy.
04:49He's not a lifelong fan.
04:50He's not this.
04:51He's not that.
04:52He's just the dude that's good at this.
04:54He's just a guy that's good at fighting, and he loves violence.
04:58He loves ripping the body, which I always like guys that go to the body.
05:03That does so much work.
05:04You hurt guys late in fights.
05:06You wear on the cardio that way.
05:08And that's something that he really does emphasize.
05:11Body shots, head shots, he just mixes them up.
05:15And, yeah, he's just a pure fighter, and he's a very talented kid.
05:18I mean, I said a while ago, this kid's a prodigy, and he's proven that.
05:24He is.
05:24He got into the sport late in life.
05:27Well, I mean, he's young, but he didn't grow up doing this stuff.
05:30And he's been great at it since, and he's got some wins over some really good guys.
05:36I think it's an advantage almost at times.
05:40Guys, you know what I mean?
05:41Think about it, Tom.
05:42You're like, oh, I wrestled in high school.
05:46I wrestled at NCAA.
05:47I've been in the UFC for 12 years.
05:49You got worn out, bro.
