00:00And Paddy will go first for us.
00:05Philippe, tough night result-wise, but just give us your overall thoughts, please.
00:11That the team played in a good structure today, well organised,
00:16the boys were really disciplined.
00:19I felt after 20 minutes that you felt that Man City
00:24started to get a little bit annoyed on the sideline next to me
00:28and on the pitch because they could not create anything at that moment.
00:33But then you get the first goal against that, yeah,
00:38we need to defend better and we need to do better on that cross,
00:42first to take this cross out of the air.
00:44I think with Grimmie and then dealing better in the box,
00:48you go 1-0 behind, then on the transition moment we get a second goal
00:53where we are a little bit naive with young players to step forward
00:58instead of running backwards.
00:59So, good lessons to take.
01:02First half I missed, in our transition moments,
01:06determination and the right choices in the final third.
01:09We had several good opportunities to get a three against three,
01:14or a four against four and a two against two,
01:17but without really creating something.
01:20That part was better in the second half.
01:22We were more dangerous in our transition moments
01:27and we scored a goal but just offside.
01:31And it was an offside also.
01:33But in all game, everybody kept on working, fighting,
01:37was disciplined, worked hard for the team.
01:41So I saw several really good individual performances also from players.
01:49But it's hard to take five goals.
01:52Six shots on target and five goals,
01:56those are not good stats of course in the end.
01:59So we didn't give away a lot but they are very efficient
02:02and those are really good lessons for my own group of players also,
02:07how to finish, how to keep overview in those decisive moments in the game
02:12because that's what football is about.
02:14As you said, the efficiency they show,
02:16you just make a slight error against this calibre player
02:18and they'll punish you and they showed that for certainly the first
02:21and maybe the third goal as well.
02:22Yeah, but that's this level of course, that's why they are here
02:25and they don't play in Norwich.
02:28That's the reality.
02:30So, no, I saw a lot of good things and we need to look at our side.
02:33We know that Man City has a really good squad,
02:37a lot of good players, a good manager, clear style of play.
02:41So we knew that from before.
02:43I think Norwich showed a good face but the result is too big for me
02:47for the face that the team showed today.
02:49When he went free early in the second half,
02:51the character, the mentality to still keep playing as well,
02:55that would please you as well because it would have been easy to go the other way.
02:58Yeah, you know me, Paddy.
02:59It's one of my basic principles that I want to see that every game
03:03and it's been in a lot of our games in these eight months together.
03:07Also, people who cannot do that, they cannot be part of the story
03:11that we have in this club to grow and to become better.
03:15So, everybody showed that today.
03:17Everybody's starting, everybody coming on the pitch.
03:19It's one of the basic qualities that you need to have as a football player.
03:22You said earlier that you were happy with some of the individual players you saw.
03:27I just wanted to get your thoughts on Darlan today.
03:28He looked like he acquitted himself quite well.
03:30Yes, and he didn't have a pre-season because he was a free agent.
03:35Coming with us, training, I think two weeks,
03:39playing then a part of that game against Cardiff, getting minutes there.
03:45It's hard also during a league to give a lot of moments to players
03:49who are not physically fully ready.
03:52So it was a really important thing to get today the 90 minutes.
03:56We hoped so that he could do it because he's been training hard
04:00and we've been training him hard to get to this level.
04:03But you never know how a body reacts.
04:06This is the biggest boost that he had until now since he was with us in the building.
04:10This will give him a good foundation for the next couple of months.
04:18I don't expect him to start now on Sunday.
04:20He will need to recover also but he will be ready to come on when it's necessary
04:24and then he will go to the national team.
04:28I have less control of that story.
04:31But I hope he can find minutes there also and get minutes
04:34that he can come back with another piece of physical abilities in his backpack.
04:41You mentioned Sunday there.
04:43Did we see that in terms of your selection?
04:44You basically said yesterday you'd have to give it that balance
04:46with the lack of game recovery time between the two games.
04:49Yeah, that's the reality.
04:51And if this game was now yesterday evening, it's a different story.
04:54But everybody knows that between two games you normally need 72 hours to recover.
05:01It's now 62.
05:03Maybe people say 10 hours is not that much but it's a lot.
05:07In this world of football you know also in this game
05:11that you need to work really hard, you need to run a lot,
05:16you need physically to do a lot to come through this game and to play a good game.
05:21So that's why we made those choices also.
05:26It's the best choice also to make.
05:28It's a good experience also for everybody who was on the pitch today.
05:32And Sunday we can start also fresh.
05:34Final one for me, talking off Sunday,
05:36you saw the reaction there, the two and a half hours at the end,
05:38the way they applauded the boys' efforts.
05:40No lack of endeavour, they liked what they saw there.
05:43Obviously it was nice to go over there and have that moment with them
05:45and then you'll need them again cleaning out Sunday as well.
05:47Yeah, for sure.
05:48We have good fans but we have also fans who know football
05:53and who ask mentality.
05:57So they've seen mentality today.
05:59Is Man City better than us?
06:02Quality-wise, yes, we know.
06:04Everybody in the world of football knows that
06:06but I think Norwich showed a good face in the way they were disciplined,
06:11in the way we defended in block,
06:15in the way we counted in the second half
06:17and we should have scored then a goal also there.
06:21But of course I prefer then if it's 3-1 or something,
06:25that would have been a nice result.
06:27But in the end it's about the performance of the players
06:30and focusing now on our league again.
06:34Please.
06:35Anybody else?
06:36All good?
