00:00The Prime Minister has welcomed Canadian counterpart and fellow Evertonian Mark Carney to the club stadium to watch a Carabao
00:07Cup tie.
00:08Andy Burnham held a bilateral meeting with Mr Carney at Everton's Hill Dickinson Stadium before the team's third round game
00:15with Wolves on Wednesday.
00:16We share so much, Mark. We have a few Liverpool connections, Ireland connections, but of course Everton connections.
00:24And it's going to be a special occasion for me being here tonight and a very personal reason to be
00:31here as well.
00:33Mark, I'm sure I speak for a lot of people in saying you're a great progressive leader with whom we
00:40share so many values,
00:41but also with whom we have a shared opportunity on defence cooperation, on trade.
00:48And there's been positive developments in that direction recently between the UK and Canada on AI,
00:53which I'm sure we'll discuss.
00:55And it's just so good for me to think that I will have somebody to talk to and commiserate about
01:02Everton at a G7 meeting,
01:04which is a really wonderful, wonderful thought, because I'll be in the view.
01:08A tribute to Mr Burnham's father, Roy, who died earlier this week and had been suffering from Alzheimer's,
01:14was shown on the stadium's big screams before the match and at half-time as a memorial.
01:19Both leaders wore Alzheimer's, Society Forget-Me-Not flowers on their lapels,
01:23and Mr Carney said he'd also lost his father to the disease.
