00:00Two of the big names of this season's UEFA Europa League.
00:06Anderlecht, a former winner, albeit now more than 40 years ago.
00:09In the Pro League at the weekend, there are first starts for Omar Babadeli and Asghar and Amane.
00:15That's for the Lyon team, Palo Fonseca promised full use of his squad.
00:18He's largely delivered on that.
00:20Eight changes from the side that lined up in Lyon.
00:24So away we go, two of the stellar names of their domestic domains.
00:29Anderlecht, Belgium's most successful ever team in terms of league titles.
00:35And Lyon, who have established themselves as a serious player in this competition in recent years.
00:41Quarter-finalists in two of their three most recent appearances in the UEFA Europa League.
00:49And Anderlecht in the household colors of purple.
00:52Winners, of course, of this competition under its previous title, the UEFA Cup, back in 1982.
01:01Should be a really good watch, this.
01:04There's Tello Asghar in the Anderlecht team from the start for the first time tonight.
01:10Having recently joined on loan from Rangers.
01:24They all have the first chance to unsettle the home defense tonight.
01:31Kale Budash.
01:34Young Algerian with the free kick, which is a good one.
01:37And Kuzma's required to tip it away.
01:41His feet in tight areas for Serbian International.
01:50Nice little flick on that by Tesman.
01:56And it's dropped out to the edge of the area and the corner is found by Noah Nate.
02:07Leon's early pressure brings rewards.
02:13And it is the 20-year-old Dane Noah Nate who kept his composure there to finish beautifully.
02:25They have been relentlessly troubling Anderlecht in the first few minutes of this game.
02:30And I don't know whether Kuzma was unsighted by that.
02:33Just appeared to be a little slow getting down to it.
02:36The fast feet of Budash.
02:40And Nate one touch here went through the legs, I think, of Mama.
02:44That's what may be.
02:47Actually, even if it is the early stages, quite a way off the pace right now.
02:51The winning champions, Nakamura.
02:56Twisting and turning and with support as well.
03:01It's better football that's taken Anderlecht from deep inside their own half and now advancing into Lyon's.
03:08And it's the right-back, Mama, who's pulled it back well.
03:19And Drago sending it on.
03:21Nakamura.
03:25Nakamura gets lucky with the deflection.
03:27And Lyon have to.
03:36Well, he'll be hoping that it's his first goal for the club.
03:41If indeed it is credited to him.
03:44And the inquest is starting in the Anderlecht back line already.
03:50I think for the second time tonight, they've just allowed a little bit too much space for Lyon to play
03:57with in the wide.
03:57In the wide areas, the first one came from the right side, this one's come from the left.
04:04Bouncing in off the...
04:08Patro curling it over the top, nicely brought down by Vinkler and Svetkovic and a really good save by Dekom.
04:16Got out super fast to the Serbian there to certainly Onerlecht's biggest chance of the night so far.
04:23It's a delicious first touch by Vinkler and then popped through for Svetkovic.
04:32He didn't have long to get his head up before seeing that on the legs.
04:42And the Mars cross, that's a half-decent header as well.
04:46It is Anderlecht 0, Lyon 2.
04:56Midfield for Anderlecht who just need to find a bit more in this second half
05:02against this Lyon team who have not lost their first match in any of their last 14 major European campaigns,
05:08which is quite the record.
05:11Last team to beat them in...
05:13I'm not sure that particular statistic has made Paolo Fonseca feel very old this week,
05:19the 53-year-old.
05:20He's not that old.
05:22Here's Nakamura.
05:23And he has options and one of the options is Openda.
05:27And it's a super save, but he's not going to keep that one out, Kuzmans.
05:32But the flag is up against Morton.
05:34It's on the initial ball for Nakamura, not for Openda.
05:39But there.
05:42The flag is up against Tyler Morton.
05:46Nakamura has been very lively tonight.
05:50And he's found the ball as well for Openda.
05:53He's got his back to goal and then bending it towards goal was Budash.
05:59This is Openda.
06:02And still he goes on, Openda.
06:04And Kuzman with the strong hands.
06:08And they've won it again, Anderlecht.
06:10In he comes, Svetkovic is on his own.
06:12And Anderlecht have a roof back into this game.
06:22The man who's scored in all three rounds at qualifying to get to the Europa League this season
06:27now has won in the competition proper as well.
06:36Anderlecht revved up in this second half
06:39and deserving of their route back into this match.
06:48León just quite literally taking their eye off the ball.
06:53And even though Svetkovic's header wasn't entirely beyond De Comp,
06:57it was almost down the middle of the goal in the end.
06:59The keeper just...
07:00given away by Mama Nakamura, Openda.
07:06Budash had made a dash, Openda's not used him at the moment, Openda.
07:10Perhaps could have used him at the last.
07:16But...
07:17Lucas Ambrose with the Anderlecht corner.
07:20And Omar Bamadeli was there.
07:23The goalkeeper was on the ground.
07:25Still a chance to get what would be a very valuable point tonight
07:28on this opening night of Europa League football for them.
07:33That's a beautiful effort from the substitute, Petty Eben.
07:37Descomps pushes it away.
07:44It's Taliafico, a World Cup winner with Argentina, Nakamura.
07:51They want the comfort of a two-goal lead again, León.
07:54Budash with the free kick and the header from Tolisso.
07:59Dinamo, Zagreb for them next month when the Europa League recommences.
08:04But a big three points for León.
08:09In their Europa League opener.
08:11This will be one of their sterner tests.
