00:13you how to finger knit finger knit is fun it's fun for everybody everybody in the whole family
00:21can do it the mother the father the brother the sister the little kids okay I taught many kids
00:29how to finger knit I even taught four and five year olds how to finger knit so finger knitting is
00:37very easy I have this pink yarn it's really nice it's soft it's like medium sized yarn and I love
00:46it and I got this yarn from 40th Street in 8th Avenue in the city so it's really good yarn
00:55they
00:55have a lot of nice yarns in that store you know they sell buttons and all kinds of things like
01:00that but so you want to learn how to finger knit very good because you have the right teacher okay
01:08Trish Trish so here we go let's get started okay so you want to take your pointer finger and point
01:16like that you want to take the yarn and yarn around so that you have one string and then you're
01:24going
01:24to yarn around again it's going to look like two strings right but now you're going to pull this
01:33up just a bit and then you're going to take this piece of string and you're going to tuck it
01:38underneath
01:40just like this so that you bring it through see and then you're going to pull this pointer out and
01:48it's
01:49going to look like a pretzel see and you're just going to make your knot okay I'm going to show
01:56you
01:56again take your pointer finger and put the wrap the yarn around your pointer okay wrap the yarn around
02:07your finger one more time like that but you're going to you're going to take this one and you're going
02:15to
02:15pull it up a bit and you'll hold it and then you're going to take this one and you're going
02:20to tuck
02:21it underneath so that it looks like a pretzel and then you're going to pull it and make a knot
02:34now you're
02:37going to pull this down like this to make it so it can fit your finger you don't want it
02:43to be too loose
02:45you don't want it to be too right so you stick it right on your pointer just like that okay
02:52so now the string that you're not doing anything with you pull this string to the side and then
03:00you hold it with your left hand my left hand I'm a righty and my left hand is holding this
03:07part with
03:08my thumb and my three fingers and then my right hand is holding this side because this is going to
03:14be
03:14the finger knitting uh hand my right hand so if you are left-handed then your left hand is going
03:25to hold this string
03:27okay and your right hand is going to hold this so it's going to be tucked like that under your
03:33thumb
03:34and your fingers are going to hold it like that so your hands are going to look like that
03:40so now you yarn over once what uh your first string your second string you yarn over the second string
03:50over the first just like that and it's going to look like that okay we're going to do it three
03:56times that
03:57was one time it's the second time one string two string take the second string and yarn over your finger
04:08all right and it's going to start looking like that all right and it's going to start looking like that
04:12and then in the yarn over again first string second string you're going to take
04:18the second string over the first string okay now that we've done that it looks like that
04:28you're going to take this string and pull it tight there now it's tight now you can continue on finger
04:38knitting okay so i'm going to do it three more times slowly and then i'm going to do it faster
04:46so you're
04:47going to yarn over one string two string take the second string over the first string okay yarn over
04:58first string second string take the second string over the first string notice how i'm holding it notice
05:06how the braid is coming out okay yarn over first string second string take the second string over the
05:17first string okay do it one more time yarn over first string second string take the second string over the
05:28first string okay now you just i'm going to continue on finger knitting i'm going to keep going
05:41when i make a long piece just so that it can wrap two times
05:52at least okay i'll show you my my braid see how it's coming out okay i'm going to keep going

06:09and once you learn how to do it you know you're not going to do it my way everyone figures
06:15out how to make
06:17it work for them you do it the best way that you know how it doesn't have to be in
06:24a particular

06:45okay and look you see how nice this string is it gives it's like a rubber band like boing like

06:55rubber band kids love that okay again i go outside for recess and it's getting warm i'm gonna start
07:03bringing out the yarn and i show the kids how to finger knit any kid that wants to learn
07:08if a little boy wants to learn i show him if a little girl wants to learn i show her
07:15i show all
07:16of the kids how to finger knit and guess what they love it i think some parents it gets on
07:22their nerves
07:23it might drive them bananas you know but and then some parents love it they're like thank you so much
07:30for teaching my child how to finger knit you know they really love it i had to go to michael's
07:36and
07:36buy a whole bunch of yarn for them and now there's yarn all over my house and i'm like oh
07:43i'm sorry you know but they said oh no it's no problem they they love it okay so
07:51now we're gonna end it so it looks like this so i have my long piece right now we're gonna
08:00cut it let's just
08:02cut it off i'm gonna cut a piece off okay now we're ending it now all you do is pull
08:15this up so
08:16that it's like that and you take this piece that's left over and push it right through the loop
08:24and now you pull everything and you just close it tight like that now both ends are closed tight see
08:35now you can either make it a necklace i like to make it even so if i'm gonna make it
08:45a necklace
08:46i'll make it look like this okay
08:55and we can just tie it like this if we like
09:03well i'm gonna do one tie like that or to make it a necklace let's say i tie it like
09:12this
09:13and i want to make it a cute necklace so then we can make it like a necklace like that
09:20right but if
09:21i don't want it to be a necklace i can take the string and i can wrap it around my
09:27hand like this
09:29and then make it into a cool bracelet like that okay
09:37so either way i could wrap it but i'm gonna make it into a bracelet if you do want to
09:43make it if you
09:44want it to be both a bracelet and a necklace then what you would do is you make this even
09:50i like to make
09:50things even okay and then i would tie the knot here like this okay just tie it like this
10:07just like that and then cut this evenly cut that off so we make it look even like that
10:19so now we got a necklace or we just wrap it around like that and now it's a bracelet see
10:31so it's a multi one it can be a necklace or it could be
