Concerned that the nest was precariously positioned, Lacy and her husband devised an innovative solution to protect the chicks. They installed a robust bird perch beneath the wreath to secure the nest and added a cardboard barrier to prevent the young birds from falling before they could take flight.

00:45around it but Ben was afraid they would still fall so I put a piece of wire through the cardboard

00:54So much for having a pretty wreath but the babies are okay now. She's back. She's hovering. She landed

01:01on the wreath. The daddy's in there. It's got a red head. We have to keep these birds alive.
