00:14Two sisters, three countries and two weeks traveling from the raw and remote to some serious Scandinavian luxury.
00:21Greenland, Iceland and Norway share extraordinary landscapes, but as travel destinations they couldn't feel more different.
00:29First, Greenland. Nook is quiet, vast and almost otherworldly.
00:35But one man was an unexpected presence almost everywhere we went, Donald Trump.
00:40In restaurants, shops and museums, his interest in taking control of Greenland was part of the conversation.
00:45Some thought the attention could boost tourism. Most we spoke to were not so keen.
00:51Nearly 150,000 international tourists visited Greenland in 2024, significant for a population of fewer than 60,000.
00:59But beyond the extraordinary scenery, we found a country confronting much bigger questions about identity, its relationship with Denmark and
01:07its future.
01:08Then Iceland, colorful, commercial and extremely good at tourism.
01:13More than 10 million overnight stays were recorded in 2025, with tourism directly accounting for 8.8% of GDP.
01:20Reykjavik has everything neatly packaged. Excursions, restaurants, Viking souvenirs and extraordinarily fresh fish.
01:28It's also very expensive.
01:31But beyond the city, nature takes over.
01:34Volcanoes, waterfalls and tectonic fissures create landscapes used by many a Hollywood production, including Game of Thrones, Interstellar and Star
01:43Wars.
01:45And finally, Norway.
01:47Bergen led us towards the spectacular Flom Railway, around 20 kilometers of mountains, waterfalls and fjords.
01:55Tom Cruise, James Bond and Succession have all used Norway scenery, and it's not difficult to see why.
02:01Norway is also expensive, but tourists aren't staying away.
02:04International guest nights rose 14% in 2025, while tourism supports around 13,000 jobs in the Bergen region.
02:14So we're at the airport here in Norway, and we're allowed three words to describe each of our experiences in
02:21Greenland, Iceland and Norway. Greenland.
02:24My three words, remote, dystopian and mesmerizing.
02:28Mine are sci-fi, raw and out of this world.
02:32Iceland.
02:32Charming, colorful and vibrant.
02:35I'm going to say fresh, fishy, stunning, commercial.
02:39And Norway.
02:40Beautiful, historic and very rainy.
02:43For me, luxurious without a doubt, fairytale and quality.
02:47No beaches, no sun lounges, not much sun.
02:52Instead, icebergs, volcanoes, fjords and two sisters discovering a very different northern vacation.
