Damien has severe manic psychosis; his only anchor is his black cat Lily. He moves to an upscale neighbourhood for a fresh start, but neighbours Marcus and Elena torment him—setting their dog on Lily, forcing him to kneel, dousing him with alcohol, trampling him publicly.
