00:28Dario Made, to cause the development of artificial intelligence?
00:32You know, it's something that we're concerned by, but we want to make sure that we actually regulate smartly
00:37and we're thoughtful about the risk here.
00:40So there are obviously risks to AI.
00:42There are some benefits to AI.
00:44I have to say just personally, I feel a little bit weird about the fact that you have so many
00:51frontier AI tech companies
00:53kind of coming to the government and begging the government to regulate them.
00:56It feels a little bit to me like a bit of a Trojan horse.
00:59So I think we just have to be careful about this.
01:02The other thing the president said pretty consistently is we know that the Chinese are engaged in this long-term
01:07AI race against the United States.
01:09We want to make sure the United States, we do things smartly, but we stay ahead of the curve.
01:14I don't think Americans should be scared of anything.
01:18I think that we have to be mindful that there are risks, there are downsides to anything, and that's certainly
01:23true of AI.
01:24On AI regulation, do you think Congress should take the lead, or do you want to see administrative executive authority
01:30work?
01:30Well, obviously, the best way to do it would be consensus between both Congress and the administration.
01:34We obviously have a lot of folks on both sides of the aisle with a strong opinion.
01:38But any regulatory regime, you'd like, ideally, Congress and the White House to agree on it
01:43so that we actually are able to make it stick and so that we actually get some real consensus behind
01:48it.
