00:11According to aviation safety body Eurocontrol, Europe recorded a daily average of nearly 36,000
00:18flights from July to August, a 2.4% increase compared to 2025. While Eurocontrol acknowledged
00:26that the U.S.-Iran war influenced this year's tourist season, the conflict has also encouraged
00:31many Europeans to holiday within their own continent, widely seen as safer. Greece's
00:38airports saw record passenger numbers which pushed its air traffic control system to the limit,
00:43especially during the peak season. Despite the increase across the continent, 72.6% of flights
00:50arrived on time, up 1.2% points on 2025. France remained the worst offender for delays caused
00:58by air traffic control management problems, accounting for 32% of all delays on its own.
