00:19So, Ryan, if there was a Pokemon designed after you, what would its name be?
00:25What would its powers be?
00:26I sort of feel beholden to say Detective Pikachu.
00:30I mean, like, it was kind of a match made in heaven for me.
00:33A little acerbic, a little angry, a little impatient.

00:36Initially, when they approached me for it, they actually had a fully rendered CGI Detective Pikachu
00:41that they'd paired with my voice.
00:43So they were like, here's what it would look like, and I was just completely blown away.

00:49What piece of dialogue did they use for the tester?
00:51They used a chunk of, I probably shouldn't say this, they used a chunk of Deadpool 1.

00:57It was not the really sweary stuff, but it was still, like, it really worked really well.
01:01Now, for the moment I've all been waiting for.
01:03From what I understand, you two were both big Pokemon fans growing up?
01:07Yeah.
01:07Yeah, so what was, like, the most dream come true moment for you guys when you were filming this?
01:11They had these, uh, lifelike statues made of the Pokemon that they brought to set, and that was pretty, that
01:17was when it all came real for me.
01:19In my head, I saw that differently.
01:20I got to actually pet Pikachu, and I saw his nose, and I saw, like, the depth of his eyes.
01:26Yeah.
01:26That was pretty intense.
01:27So squishy.
01:29Pika Pika Pika, he's adorable.
01:32You're adorable.
01:33Ryan Reynolds' spirit Pokemon is Pikachu.
01:35Who are your guys' spirit Pokemon?
01:38It's Moralax, so I can sleep all the time.
01:41Furfru, hands down.
01:43A Furfru is a poodle Pokemon, and I have three poodles in my life, and I'm a poodle myself.

01:50Well, this is an easy one.
01:52Psyduck is the one I identify with the most.
01:55You know, he gets stressed and confused, and it gives him a headache, and his head explodes, which is a
02:01lot like directing a movie of this size.
02:04So I, I, I, I find myself constantly doing this on set.
02:08We're forced to listen to this spa music so your head doesn't explode and kill us all.

02:15I saw an interesting piece on you called Becoming Pikachu.

02:19I was on my way to pick up my daughters from school when I heard that I got the role.
02:23Well, I didn't show up.
02:24Did you ever pick your kids up from school?

02:33I've never done a movie where my children were so psyched to see it as they are Detective Pikachu.
