00:00The prevalence of insecurity that Nagira is going through, particularly the issues of
00:04kidnapping and insurgency. I think the idea suggested by the Inspector General of Police
00:11of bringing back the police mobile force, popularly known as MOPOL, or anti-riot
00:18policemen, is something that should be welcomed. The Nagira police and all the security agencies
00:22actually need all hands to be on deck to attack insecurity, kidnapping in particular. I remember
00:29that the Minister of Defense, General Moussa, mentioned that even though the military is
00:34making some headway in attacking terrorism, kidnapping remains a major problem. If the
00:41MOPOL can be trained the way the Inspector General suggested, he retrained and refreshed in such a way
00:47that they will have the mentality to attack kidnapping, a plus for security agencies. We shouldn't
00:55forget, however, that in the past the MOPOL was also notorious for, you know, going into excess,
01:01trying to bring order and peace into situations. We hope that the police would retrain them in such
01:08a way the adverse character would not be the new MOPOL that they are expecting. But definitely
01:14the Nagira need additional security by the MOPOL to counter terrorism, kidnapping and insurgency.
