00:01After concluding his working visit to Sabah on Friday, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar
00:07Ibrahim departed for New Delhi to attend the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit to be held over
00:12the weekend.
00:13Anwar said he was scheduled to meet his Indian counterpart, Narendra Modi, as well as the
00:19presidents of Russia, Iran, and Kazakhstan, and the Prime Minister of Ethiopia during
00:24the event.
00:25He left for India together with his delegation and said his itinerary will also include a
00:30visit to Kerala to meet the Grand Mufti of India to exchange views on community development,
00:37education, and religious affairs.
00:40New Delhi authorities said they have stepped up security and hospitality preparations for
00:45the event.
01:02It has been a coordination exercise for us at the Ministry of External Affairs with our
01:08colleagues from the Government of India, as well as important organizations like Delhi Police
01:15and the Ministry of Home Affairs when it comes to security-related issues.
01:19As I said before, it's been a coordination exercise.
01:21It's a team effort.
01:23And we look forward to a successful summit on the 12th and 13th of September.
01:27So, you know, we are really looking forward to the upcoming BRICS Summit.
01:30And I think it's a great moment of pride for all of us to be able to host these countries
01:34and, you know, make them experience Indian hospitality, you know, through the lens of Leela.
01:39So our team is truly excited for it.
01:41And as you could see, the entire hotel is prepping for that, from your security aspect to the
01:46welcoming reception to the special menus being planned for that.
01:49Several leaders of the BRICS nations, including Russian President Vladimir Putin and South African
01:55President Cyril Ramaphosa, have arrived in the Indian capital.
01:59Iranian President Masood Pezeshkian will also attend the summit, where focus will be on the
02:06U.S.-Iran conflict, which has threatened navigation in the Strait of Hormuz and global oil and gas supply.
