01:26I also learnt so many things about how to take every moment

01:32The positives and not so positive experiences
01:36As important lessons to strive for excellence
01:39I think that's what makes this moment truly special for me
01:44Since I am receiving this recognition from my very own people
01:47And from the place I belong to
01:51To receive an award named after the legend of Indian cinema Raj Kapoor ji
01:55Is in itself hugely humbling
01:57And I truly hope I can live up to this honor
02:01When I entered the film industry as a teenager
02:04I had absolutely no road map
02:06I was simply trying to do my job in the best way possible
02:12For me cinema is the language through which we understand people
02:17Celebrate them and root for those who inspire us
02:20I have always silently worked to represent the powerful girls and women of India
02:26Through cinema that has its heart in the right place
02:29People often ask me whether I consciously chose films centered around women
02:35The honest answer is
02:37I chose characters that felt truthful
02:41That have felt instinctively drawn towards for their story
02:44Their journey and their resilience
02:47Characters who had courage
02:49Characters who had flaws
02:51Characters who refused to disappear into the background
02:55Women who were never waiting for someone else to rescue them
02:59Mani cinema ko kabhi sirf ek profession nahi samjha
03:03Mere liye cinema ek gheira emotion hai
03:06And Maharashtra is the home of that emotion
03:10There are thousands and thousands of people here
03:14Who wake up every morning with one dream
03:17To tell a story
03:18And those stories don't remain here
03:20They travel
03:22They travel from Mumbai to Maharashtra
03:25From Maharashtra to India
03:26And from India to the entire world
03:29That is the magic and power of the film industry
03:36That thrives in this very state of Maharashtra
03:39And I feel incredibly fortunate
03:41To be part of this wonderful film fraternity
03:45So when I say Maharashtra is my janma bhoomi and my karma bhoomi
03:49I don't say it as just a line for an award speech
03:53I say it because I truly believe it
03:56Mumbai has seen me grow up
03:58This city has seen me become a daughter
04:01An actress, a wife and a mother
04:04It has seen me fall
04:06And it has seen me get back up
04:08It has taught me never to give up
04:11To always be myself
04:13And it has accepted me for who I am
04:16So with the deepest gratitude
04:18I dedicate this award to Maharashtra
