01:01to be self-funded then meaning that uh the cost of the club are taken care of by the club's

01:06revenues and now more than four years into this project i think we have uh come a long way
01:13obviously there's still many things that can improve but i think we have built a club again
01:18that izmir can really be proud of and we have built a real challenger project in turkey it's
01:25easy to get stuck in the present moment and obviously the start to the season has been
01:30disappointing from a point perspective to all of us but i think it's important that we remind
01:35ourselves that we actually come a long way our dream is to go to europe and that's what we fight
01:41for every single day last season we were so close had it not been from some for some very questionable
01:47decisions at the last game and also a performance drop on our part uh in some of the home games
01:54in
01:54the second part of the season we could have been in europe now so we are not so far away
01:59but i also want to say that it's not automatic just to go to europe it's not something i can
02:05guarantee
02:06the reality is that we are competing to go to europe against teams that are spending more money on one
02:11player than we are doing on our whole squad so it's a big challenge but we are taking on that
02:18challenge
02:19there will be some transitions years where we sell some players and we have to build a new team
02:24but we are always trying to improve the team step by step so that in a good season we can
02:30actually
02:31challenge for the european spots it's important to understand that for us it's not building a
02:37competitive team at the expense of being financially sustainable and equally it's not having financial
02:43success at the expense of building a competitive team it's not one or the other it's both
02:48what i can say is that we we definitely don't want to be like a dana demispor that overspends for
02:56a few
02:57seasons and then they relegate twice we want to build a solid club a robust club that is not relying
03:05on the
03:05generosity of one individual that may lose interest in a few years and then you never hear about the
03:13club again we want to build a gusty but that is not only successful for a season or two but
03:19that can
03:19continue to grow over the next five to ten years and we believe that is done when you have a
03:25financially
03:26sustainable model there was a lot of questions about whether the coach has a say in recruitment and
03:32of course he has um we will never sign a player at this club that the coach doesn't buy into
03:39because
03:39ultimately he needs to believe in the player he needs to put him on the pitch and with regards to
03:45stolov himself i can just say i think we owe the man a lot of respect he's been a driving
03:53factor of the
03:54last two seasons which have been so successful he's developed players that we recruited to an amazing
04:01level this summer he turned down a big offer from one of the biggest clubs in turkey because he's
04:07committed to the gusty project we owe him a lot of respect and he has my full support he will
04:12continue
04:12to have my full support finally i want to say that right now we are in a difficult moment and
04:17criticism
04:18is always welcome we have to improve we want to improve we will improve at the same time it's important
04:24we remind ourselves that we are coming from the two most successful seasons in the last 50 years of the
04:29club we had some amazing moments together we had some great results we've seen some top performances
04:34on the pitch we sold players for record-breaking amounts we developed players to the best leagues
04:39in the world gustep is a respected club again not just in turkey but also outside turkey in the whole
04:46of europe we have a lot to be proud of it's easy to stick together when everything is going well
04:52but
04:53these are the moments when it's a bit tough that we need to use the passion the commitment we have
04:58for the club to support the players to support the team and i am so sure that if we do
05:04that together
