00:00There have been some media reports about how some Republicans are considering distancing themselves from President Trump ahead of the
00:06midterms.
00:06What do you make of that as a political strategy?
00:09Look, at the end of the day, this is not about President Trump.
00:13It is about the choice before the American people.
00:16And in a district like mine, the choice is between me and my opponent, Kate Conley,
00:22who supports open borders, who supports sanctuary state policies, who supports increasing taxes by $4 trillion,
00:29who wants a government takeover of health care, who praises Zoran Mamdani and the radical socialists for their movement.
00:38So for me, this is a very clear choice between me and my record and what I've done to deliver
00:45real bipartisan results for my district,
00:48increasing the cap on salt, securing the border, stopping the massive influx of illegal immigration into our country,
00:56passing the largest housing bill in 36 years,
00:59really working tirelessly to bring back resources to my district and to New York.
01:06And so, you know, I think at the end of the day, folks can make it about the president.
01:11But to me, this is about the choice before the American people and the direction of the country.
01:19And what the Democrats are advocating for is nothing more than what we've seen from Bernie Sanders, AOC, Zoran Mamdani.
01:29That's the platform of the Democratic Party today.
01:32They want to defund the police.
01:34They want to abolish ICE.
01:35They want to raise taxes.
01:36They want a government takeover of health care.
01:39They want sanctuary policies and open borders.
01:42They want to abolish the Senate.
01:44You know, these are the things that they're running on as a party
01:48and that very clearly the base of their party is mobilizing behind.
