Official Ticket – 2026 Chiang Mai CAD Sky Lantern Festival

Experience the 2026 Chiang Mai CAD Yi Peng Sky Lantern Festival on November 24 and 25, where you’ll witness the magical release of thousands of lanterns and enjoy a full day of cultural celebrations. Your ticket includes shuttle transfer from the meeting point, a buffet Thai dinner, and access to traditional performances, with two sky lanterns provided per guest. Make sure to register at the entrance, exchange your e-ticket for a paper ticket, and follow all instructions for a smooth festival experience.

- Arrive early at the designated meeting point, as transportation from your hotel is not included and festival traffic can be heavy.
- Explore the cultural village, take part in DIY workshops, and enjoy live music before the main ceremony.
- After dinner, head to the pagoda zone to participate in the lantern release and meditation ceremony, following your assigned seat.
- Children under 8 attend free with parents but do not receive lanterns or souvenirs, and all guests are encouraged to wear Lanna Thai or ceremonial attire.

00:09the overall experience was good communication with the ticket seller was good they managed
00:16to accommodate my sister's booking which was made three months after mine and got her a ticket in
00:21the same row as me having seen reviews about the poor organization of the free transport provided
00:28i opted to take a grab taxi direct from my hotel to the venue which worked well on arrival i
00:34obtained
00:35a wristband for the return free transport from the information center and enter the site there
00:41were lots of activities some of which you had to pay for but nothing expensive maybe 100 bought
00:47we headed to the food section at around 5 p.m and managed to get a good place to sit
00:54down and eat
00:55we had standard tickets and seating was on the ground on plastic sheets covered with mats and
01:00cushions with small tables there was a huge selection of food and all was tasty and well cooked
01:07the toilets were not very clean but sufficient after eating we headed over to the main event area
01:14seats were easy to find and there were stewards on each row to help the show itself was spectacular
01:21with monks chanting and lasers and holograms projected onto the big pagoda in the center of the arena
01:27then came the time to release the lanterns which was absolutely magical and beyond what i expected
01:35unfortunately the free transport to the drop-off points was very poorly organized
01:40we left the site at 9 p.m to go to a van and it took 45 minutes to an
01:47hour to get on transport to
01:48the night bazaar and then unfortunately the driver did not take everybody to the night bazaar
01:54he stopped one kilometer away and we all had to walk which was very inconvenient
01:59this however is not the ticket seller's fault
02:03it is cad the organizer's fault
02:06all in all i would purchase from this ticket seller again and also attend the cad yipeng lantern festival again
02:14i would have rated this a one if the sky lantern had not been as great
02:19when i bought the ticket there was only one price option
02:23i picked the pickup location at a shopping center
02:26i then received a confirmation that included a hotel with the word delete in front with shopping center pickup location
02:34as there was only one price option
02:37it's logical to conclude that the price included the shopping center pickup location
02:42the local tour operator messaged i only had one pickup location at more space
02:48hundreds of ticket holders had to wait for ancient buses without any air conditioning under the burning sun
02:55for hours to get on an ancient bus and traveled in it for more than two hours to the site
03:00no real line to get on the ancient buses
03:03if you plan to go
03:05get either vip or premium ticket
03:08the tickets are no refundable so don't expect any service and expect ruthness
03:15organization and transportation need improvement
03:18there were no signs on site
03:20and we had to search for a long time before finding our transport in the crowd
03:25the buffet was okay
03:27and the lantern release was magnificent
03:30the return trip was atrocious
03:32with a three-hour wait in the rain
03:34our shoes and clothes were completely ruined because the ground was so muddy
03:39it was impossible to walk in sandals or anything else
03:42there were no signs indicating the return route
03:46everyone was looking for their transport vehicles
03:49and there weren't enough transfers for the standard fares
03:52we had to wait three hours barefoot on the wet grass
03:56better organization of transportation is needed
04:00along with more clear signs
04:02as the standard fares weren't displayed at all
04:05and the few organizers there sent us running around without knowing where to go
04:10as well
04:10go
