00:00Manchester United are back in Europe's biggest competition.
00:05They're playing in the Champions League once again.
00:10The United manager Michael Carrick has said how important it is for Manchester United to be playing in the Champions
00:17League and amongst Europe's elite teams.
00:20Here is what the manager had to say.
00:23Michael, what does playing top-flight European football mean to you and what should it mean to Manchester United?
00:31It means an awful lot.
00:35It's challenging yourself against the elite, the very best.
00:39I've said it before, I think it's over a long, long, long period of time, this football could have been
00:45used to challenging what's the best and being the best.
00:51And it's not something that you can take for granted, what it takes to be there and what it takes
00:55to stay there.
00:56We've missed out on it for a number of years and now we're back.
01:00So I think it means a lot.
01:04It's where we want to be every single year and it's where we should expect to be without being ahead
01:09of ourselves.
01:10It's what we have to push for.
01:12It's the standards that we want to set.
01:16And it's up to us to be able to do.
01:18I think you made huge steps in the last few months or a year or so to make it and
01:26finish the league really strong to be in this position.
01:28And now it's about what's next and pushing into the next chapter, if you like, the next phase, the next
01:34evolution of the team and the squad.
01:36And this is certainly where we want to be and it's up to us now to make sure we stay.
