A ground report from New Ashok Nagar on the Delhi-Noida border reveals how multiple residential buildings have developed severe cracks and remain in dilapidated condition, posing collapse risks. Rampant illegal construction continues without adherence to safety regulations, even directly opposite local councillor Sanjeev Singh's residence. Dense webs of electrical wires across extremely narrow lanes present a severe fire hazard, leaving emergency and firefighting vehicles unable to access the area quickly. While the councillor stated he continually warns residents about safety rules, violations persist unchecked. The report highlights structural risks across localities like New Ashok Nagar, Satya Niketan, Malviya Nagar, and Rohini as authorities fail to act.

00:00Well right now I am present at New Ashok Nagar which is at the border of Delhi and Noida and
00:05there are multiple areas like Satya Niketan, Malvinagar, Rohini where there are cracks in
00:12residential buildings. This is the area where you know multiple buildings can be witnessed.
00:19Those have in which cracks have been developed but the government, the authorities have not
00:24taken any kind of action. I am present in E block and on my left hand side is the residents
00:29of
00:29local councillor Sanjeev Singh and you can see as to how this house is in such a great condition
00:35that nothing can happen to this house. It can withstand heavy rains and also heavy winds
00:44but right in front of his house is a house which has developed cracks. You can clearly
00:50see as to how there are multiple cracks have come in this building and people are still
00:54residing in these residential buildings. Right next to this building there are multiple
00:59buildings in which there is accommodation, there are rented accommodation, PG accommodation
01:06and all these houses have been constructed without following any kind of rules and regulations.
01:12Apart from that you can also see web of wires, electrical wires and imagine if any short circuit
01:17happens this entire area can catch fire and there will be no way for people to even run.
01:24Why? Because these are very narrow lanes. These lanes will take a lot of time. The authorities,
01:33fire fighting vehicles, cranes will take a lot of time to even enter in these areas and you can see
01:39as to how the entire area is skewed, narrow and this shows how you know despite multiple incidents,
01:47no actions have been taken by the authorities. At the same time illegal construction is also happening
01:54right in front of the residents of councillor and this shows how a councillor even having knowledge of these
02:02constructions, illegal construction has not taken any kind of action. You can see as to how there are multiple houses
02:07in
02:08dilapidated condition and no actions have been taken. Instead there are constructions, those are still happening, fresh construction without
02:15following any kind of rules and regulations, those are supposed to be followed. So this shows as to how
02:21there are multiple areas in Delhi like Satya Niketan, like Malvinagar and also like Rohini where the
02:29residential buildings have developed cracks, dilapidated condition is there of the houses and it seems like
02:38authorities despite knowing no actions, they are not taking any kind of action. You can see as to how this
02:43is
02:43another residential building where you can see as to how cracks have been developed. The lower area of
02:51the extended version, extended part of this house can clearly be seen here which is in complete
02:58dilapidated condition and anytime this house can turn into rubble, this house can you know collapse
03:06and this is the condition of Ashoknagar. At the same time in the same area you can see as to
03:13how
03:13illegal construction is still going on. This is a lane where two houses are being constructed and
03:19there is no space for construction, still the construction is going on and no rules and
03:25regulations are being followed. In fact construction is underway right next to the house which is
03:30itself in a dilapidated condition and both the houses facing each other have developed cracks. So this
03:36shows that all the rules and regulations are being flouted in open. We spoke to councillor, he told us
03:43that he keeps on you know keeps on making people aware about these situations, about the conditions,
03:51about the rules and regulations which have to be followed but people are not following this. The point
03:56here is that when will authorities take action, when will they make rules, when will they ensure that no such
04:04Satya Niketan incident again repeats in national capital. With video journalist Sanjeev, I am Piyush Mishra in Delhi, Pundiraday.
