00:00You have to accept who you are.
00:03Even if it makes you an outsider,
00:06you're not normal.
00:07You're not normal. It's okay. It's okay.
00:11Lovely to see you both again.
00:13The premiere was so special last night.
00:16How did it feel just coming back
00:18and sharing this magical world with everybody?
00:21Well, we kept the rain off, didn't we?
00:23Yeah, it really rained last night.
00:26We were asking for the rain as wishes we were.
00:28Please rain. And of course, it came.
00:29And it came just on time, the day after the premiere.
00:32We have not had rain here in so long, so thank you.
00:35I know you're in a crowd.
00:36You really are.
00:37It took a while, but we persevered and we brought the rain.
00:40Cauldrons, potions, spells, but it all came here.
00:43I was thinking, when you were getting ready
00:46for the premiere for the first movie
00:48and then obviously getting ready for the premiere for this one,
00:51were you thinking about that experience before?
00:54And did you ever know when you were stepping out
00:56from the first movie to the premiere
00:57that it was going to become the cult classic that it became?
01:00No.
01:00No, it was not well received when it first came out.
01:03Was it not?
01:04No, not at all.
01:06It grew over 27 years until now.
01:10It's forced them to make a second movie.
01:14But it was not well received.
01:15No, it wasn't.
01:16I didn't know that.
01:17Bad review.
01:17If you go back and look at some of the critical responses,
01:19they didn't understand it.
01:20Oh.
01:21I remember a couple of very posh famous reviewers just,
01:25they don't know what story they're telling.
01:28Yeah.
01:28Anyway.
01:29Well, I don't even know.
01:31So the reviews couldn't have been that important
01:32because I haven't even read them.
01:33So there you go.
01:34Listen, I am a woman of a witchy disposition.
01:38I'm very witchy.
01:39I love my crystals.
01:40I love tarot.
01:41I love manifestation.
01:42All of that.
01:43Were you witchy before these films?
01:46And are you also of a witchy disposition?
01:48I have a daughter who's very, very witchy.
01:52Compared to her, I'm not.
01:54But she's like you.
01:55She really loves her crystals.
01:57She goes into the shops, you know,
02:00and talks to the people about it
02:02and gets her fortune read at every turn.
02:05So I'm very familiar with it.
02:08What would you say?
02:09I don't have any children.
02:11But I myself, I don't think I am.
02:15But the thing is, I think I probably am.
02:18Because I do believe in instinct.
02:20I do believe that there are, you know,
02:24the other thing we have,
02:25why am I feeling so strange?
02:26Something's going on.
02:27Something's going on.
02:28And then you find out that something has happened.
02:32And I do believe that.
02:35I think my mother was a bit of a witchy.
02:36My mother's one of those people that the phone would ring
02:39and she knew what I was doing.
02:41And I don't understand that phenomenon.
02:44If you know, and usually it was not something she was proving up.
02:47But I do believe that's in human beings.
02:50You must, as a mother, you must have that.
02:51Yes, I have an instinct.
02:53Yeah, yeah.
02:53And sometimes I'm just wrong.
02:56But I have an instinct usually about how my children are.
03:00Mother's intuition.
03:02Nothing's stronger.
03:03No.
03:04Witchy.
03:04Yeah.
03:05So much of this film resonated with me.
03:08But I think the thing that resonated the most was that theme of taking your power back
03:13and not being afraid of your power and stepping into that.
03:16In times where you've maybe not felt like you're in your power, how have you got your power back?
03:22Yes.
03:23Well, we, it's really, yeah, I think it's really more Sandy's denial.
03:30And then passing to her children that denial, not telling them the truth of who they are,
03:38that creates these enormous problems that puts them in such great danger.
03:44You have to accept who you are.
03:48Even if it makes you an outsider of the, you're not normal.
03:52You're not normal.
03:53It's okay.
03:54It's okay.
03:56It's all right not to be normal.
03:58Yeah.
03:59You accept it.
03:59Self-determination.
04:01Mm-hmm.
04:01I love that.
04:02I was getting a bit emotional there.
04:03Just finally, obviously, the importance of sisterhood is so paramount in these films.
04:10What have your female friendships through these movies meant to you?
04:14They mean the world.
04:15I mean, without them, I don't know who I'd be.
04:20In real life, it's true, my dear, dear friends.
04:23But in the movie, you know, without my sister.
04:29We only have each other.
04:30We only have each other.
04:33And without that, and we have to protect each other and take care of each other and guide each other
04:39and guide the young.
04:42In my particular life, friendship is the most important, with men and women.
04:50I mean, I have a lot of male friends I consider family and they consider me family.
04:56And so my friends are my family.
05:00And all of us feel it.
05:02And I have some friends that have been in my life since I was in my early twenties.
05:06And so I'm not really into the gender thing, if you don't mind.
05:10But I think sisterhood is powerful, but so is friendship.
05:14Friendship is the most powerful bond on the planet.
05:17And even, as I said, everybody's different.
05:22But that core sense of connection and responsibility, wherever it may go, is important to humanity.
05:29Absolutely.
05:30I don't know if it's just because it's a clip season, but I'm getting quite emotional.
05:32Listen, thank you so much.
05:34Thank you for these films and everything that you've done.
05:36These are both absolute legends.
05:37You can try to share with yourpleaping the contrast with the
05:37memories of each man and each man together.
05:38Do your own conclusions and the juices and thestrings?
