00:20since taliban took over the power in afghanistan you know that they
00:24literally banned women from most of the things like they have banned schools on on girls past
00:30grade six and women are not allowed to to work anymore they're not even allowed to go to the
00:38park uh you know like simple things in life they're not allowed to do it anymore obviously
00:44besides my singing career i am also an activist for women's rights in afghanistan and i thought
00:54you know what we need to stand against this injustice against taliban what they're doing
01:01and um so i thought initially would be a great idea to do this ladies only concert
01:06where we show uh the power of women where we stand together as women and
01:12raise our voice and raise awareness against the injustices that's going on in afghanistan
01:28there's so much that i could do in my country there's so much but right now i am unable to
01:34do
01:34that because of the fact that i'm not allowed to go to back to afghanistan i'm not allowed to
01:38physically be there be on the screen of the tv give out my messages be that support and that hope
01:45for
01:45the afghan women i cannot do that anymore so much but the one thing that i'm grateful for the fact
01:50that we were able to establish the organization outside afghanistan i have this organization called
01:57defa which stands for defenders of equality uh freedom and advancement for women i speak to
02:06around a hundred afghan women or girls inside afghanistan on on a monthly basis through my organization
02:15defa through zoom and i actually get to speak to them ask them questions hear their stories
02:20and i keep on telling them to not give up hope to keep fighting to keep fighting for the rights
02:25to to raise their voices and be hopeful because i honestly i do feel from the bottom of my heart
02:32that these dark days will pass they will not exist forever this is at least as a human this is
02:39what i
02:39think because what they have brought upon women in afghanistan is it's ridiculous and it's inhuman
02:45and inhumanity and and this kind of uh life i don't think it can last forever people will uh
02:53eventually raise their voices people will eventually stand up against them and uh justice will prevail
02:59maybe it will i don't know when maybe it will last another two three four five years but it cannot
