00:00In the scale of this operation, essentially what was needed to connect people, connect
00:04those villages which were washed away and disconnected for more than 10 days now.
00:08These conventional ropeway or pulley bridges have been made in many of these areas.
00:14Just over the few years, we brought devastation to send the entire landscape.
00:19And now as we see, the bulk relief operation essentially is very difficult in the extremely
00:24narrow air passage and hence these conventional ropeway have been made by the Nepalese army
00:29being operated by the locals and other civil volunteer groups.
00:33And this is to make sure that early evacuation of the people in need of those who were stranded
00:37for more than 10 days and at the same time connect those villages for essential supplies because
00:42now as we see the water level is receding, the people are going back to their homes and what
00:46will be needed to ensure that essential supplies are being sent and dispatched and hence these
00:51conventional pulley cables, unless the belly bridges are prepared, those villages are connected
00:55by main road.
00:56These mechanisms are being used here at ground zero in the rescue relief and support operation.
01:02As an uphill task for the Nepalese army to restore the connectivity and as we speak in
01:06Nuwankot, the engineering specialized unit of Nepalese army is now making a belly bridge.
01:11Multiple of these areas from Kathmandu to Ruswa have been washed away, disconnected and look at
01:17it, the giant bridges were literally washed away with the furious Bhatkoshi and Trishuli.
01:21And now in Nuwankot, in Devighaard, these belly bridge operations being carried out by Nepalese
01:27engineering unit and the challenges is to mobilize massive, you know, the relief at the same time,
01:33reconstruction and restructuring units of required essential to the uphill areas, to upstream areas
01:40because so far only the hilly operation have been the only mechanism on the 11th day, the massive
01:46challenges the army is facing of the logistics and hence these belly bridges.
01:49Once they connect the main roads, many of these areas and the villages, towns which have been
01:54disconnected from each other will eventually be reconnected and restoring the connectivity
01:58will be critical part of this, you know, this whole operation for the Nepalese army and hence we
02:05see somewhere it is the pulley bridges, somewhere the belly bridges. The restoration process has begun
02:11at full swing in Nepal, at this elevation in the critical areas.
02:15one of these areas.
02:15and one of these areas.
