00:07in Bolivia on Friday, authorities said. Bolivia's defense minister said pyrotechnic material was
00:15stored at the base in Viacha, southwest of Bolivia's administrative capital, La Paz.
00:20The exact cause of the blasts was under investigation, he said in a statement.
00:25He added the two people who died were soldiers serving at the base and that
00:29seven soldiers remained missing. Footage circulated by local media showed a thick column of black smoke
00:36rising from the city center. Houses in the area were damaged by the blasts with footage showing
00:42shattered windows, broken ceilings and scattered debris. An earlier police report said at least
00:4852 of those wounded were civilians. Firefighters rushed to the base following the blasts and
00:54residents were evacuated to a temporary shelter.
