Anne Hathaway shares a fascinating behind-the-scenes insight into filming emotionally charged scenes, explaining how the entire crew's focus helped maintain the moment, even during technical delays with IMAX cameras. She uses a beautiful metaphor, comparing the set to a 'birthing suite' where something special is being created.

00:00Anne, I thought your scenes where you were just like one-on-one with Matt or Tom or Rob were
00:04some of the most powerful in the movie.
00:07And then I read that you're holding these moments while they're reloading the IMAX cameras.
00:11Yes.
00:11Can you like walk me through that? What is that like?
00:14Thank you, by the way. That's an amazing thing to hear.
00:17I don't know how to... It's this crew.
00:19Like, it's so nice of you to say, like, how do I hold it? But it was everybody.
00:23And I remember turning to you at one point.
00:26Maybe I have it on my mind.
00:27But I remember we were doing a really emotionally intricate scene.
00:31And we were kind of getting more and more open with every take.
00:34And I remember thinking, gosh, these rooms can...
00:36When you're acting in them, they can often feel like a birthing suite.
00:39Like, you know, like just a room where something is being born.
00:42And so you don't want to speak too loudly.
00:45And where else would you ever want to be?
00:47It's a joy to be present in that.
00:49It's not going to last forever.
00:50So I just kind of went with it and suppressed every instinct I had to crack a joke.
00:55I was going to say, how do you not break?
00:57Chris is a good reason not to break.
00:58If he breaks, you can break.
01:00But not before him.
