00:00The United States administration continues its aggression against Cuba on Thursday.
00:04The Department of State announced new sanctions targeting five entities and one individual.
00:09The sanctions target financial metals and mining and energy sectors.
00:13Those sanctions include Fidel Ernesto Castro Calis, Raul Castro's grandson and Banco Exterior de Cuba.
00:19In the mining sector, the commander René Ramos Latour Services Company and the nickel importer and supplier were sanctions.
00:27In energy, the measures affected the oil supply import company and the commercial firm Coupette.
00:33This is the latest in a series of U.S. measures against the island,
00:36which has already faced a significant tightening of the blockade affecting the well-being of its population.
00:48Cuba's permanent representative to the United Nations, Ernesto Soberon,
00:52denounced the intentions behind the systematic sanctions imposed on Cuba.
00:55Soberon posted the following on his ex-account.
00:58Secretary Marco Rubio should stop lying to himself and, above all, should stop lying to the rest of the world.
01:04The sanctions that the United States government systematically imposes on the people of Cuba
01:08aims to open, quote, from the original document from 1960,
01:14every possible means should be undertaken promptly to weaken the economic life of Cuba.
01:18If such a policy is adopted, it should be the result of a positive decision which will call forth a
01:24line of action
01:25which, while as adroit and unconscious as possible, makes the greatest inroads in denying money and supplies to Cuba
01:34to decrease monetary and real wages to bring about hunger, desperation and overthrow of government, end of quote.
01:41Mr Rubio should, at the very least, have his own original ideas.
01:46In this case, it is a failed strategy that has been implemented by the U.S. government
01:50since the very beginning of the Cuban Revolution.
