Tesla releases promo video for golden two-seater Cybercab
Tesla will unveil its two-seater Cybercab at an event in Texas on Sept. 3, 2026, offering a closer look at the autonomous vehicle that CEO Elon Musk has said was key to transforming the company into a dominant force in driverless vehicles. Tesla put out a promotional video on social media platform X ahead of the event, with the caption: 'The future has arrived in Austin.' Apart from naming it the 'Cybercab Launch Event,' Tesla has given few details on the convention. Cybercab engineer Eric Earley on X said the event would begin at 5:45 p.m. ET on Sept. 3 in downtown Austin and that details would follow for those invited. Since launching a small pilot in Austin, Texas, in June 2025, Tesla has expanded its robotaxi service to a handful of other cities in Texas and Florida. Service is often limited to outlying areas that are simpler to navigate than urban centers.
