Tensions escalated outside the Parliament Street Police Station in New Delhi as workers from the Indian Youth Congress and the Caucasus Janata Party staged protests demanding stringent legal action against Swatantra Bharatwaj. The unrest follows an alleged murderous assault on the father of activist Nishu Azad, who has sought legal support from Rahul Gandhi's team. Protesters and leaders, including Saurabh Das and Ashutosh Ranka, sought meetings with senior Delhi Police officials to demand the addition of attempt-to-murder sections in the First Information Report. Police authorities maintained that the medical legal certificate classified the injuries sustained by the victim, Sanjay Azad, as non-serious, leading to the omission of Section 109 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Security forces, including central paramilitary personnel, were heavily deployed outside the police station as demonstrators continued their dharna, seeking immediate custody of the accused.

00:03And you heard the claim that was made by Saurav Das who's accused the Delhi police of failing
00:07to take stringent action against Watantra Bharadwaj. Let me take this to Rahul Gautam
00:13joining us on the broadcast. Rahul, Saurav Das has already reached the police station.
00:18The other information we are getting that Nishu has sought help from Rahul Gandhi's legal team
00:22and Rahul Gandhi has extended all the possible help. What is happening at the moment? Will
00:29Rahul Gandhi also arrive at the Parliament Street police station?
00:36Well, not yet. However, workers from the Indian Youth Congress have already arrived at the
00:42Parliament Street police station. Remember, yesterday only Rahul Gandhi assured full assistance
00:46to Nishu Azad and in fact put the government in a tight spot wondering why no action has
00:53been taken against Watantra Bharadwaj who seems to be openly admitting that he was the one
00:58who made a murderous assault on Nishu Azad's father. In fact, Rahul Gandhi also dragged
01:05Union Home Minister Amish Shah, Delhi police into this entire controversy saying that why
01:10no action has been taken against all those people who were involved in this incident.
01:14See, we have to understand that as far as Jantar Mantra protest is concerned, Rahul Gandhi
01:19has been trying to create a narrative that Delhi police has completely failed in terms of safeguarding
01:24rights of the agitating students. But at the same time, they've been giving patronage and
01:30protection to all those lumped animals who were involved in violence against the very
01:35protesters. So therefore, expect that the Congress Party would be increasing heat on this issue.
01:41As we speak, youth Congress workers are already at the police station. They would obviously press
01:47for an FIR in this regard. In stringent sections, Congress is alleging that the FIR that has been
01:55filed so far is mild in nature. And therefore, these people who are openly admitting and absolutely
02:02defined by Delhi police, they should be booked and they should also be sent behind bars. So as we speak,
02:10the legal team of Congress Party seems to be helping Nishu Azad in this regard so that she could get
02:14her FIR registered. Remember, earlier Rahul Gandhi had all the way gone to Parliament Street Police
02:20Station to get FIR registered for Sahil Lochab, who was the alleged pellet gun victim. At that point of
02:26time also, he also sat on a dharna for almost eight to nine hours. And at that point, Rahul Gandhi
02:32was
02:32absolutely defiant that until there is an FIR going to be registered in this regard, he's not going to
02:37be budged. He's not going to budge from that place. So I expect that the same amount of pressure,
02:42this time also Congress would be exerting Rahul Gandhi is already saying that Nishu Azad is being
02:47penalized only because she was speaking on behalf of a community, Dalit community and also for the
02:53student cause. So expect that now this issue is going to become a major flashpoint between BJP and
03:00Congress. And obviously, given the fact that CJP is also involved, expect that this is going to have
03:05huge political ramifications in near future.
03:11Rahul, I request you to stay on with us. Let me take this back to Anshul Singh, who's at the
03:15Parliament Street Police Station. Anshul, a lot of action there. Saurav Das has just reached no
03:20information that Rahul Gandhi will reach. We see how the security has been heightened.
03:25Swatantra Bharadwaj, he's made some very controversial statements and a clear message needs to go out that
03:29nobody is bigger than the law. However, the CJP, as we understand, is also planning to get out the
03:35Parliament. Is there any confirmation on that? How are they planning to approach this matter?
03:44Well, at this point, if I could just give you a sense of these visuals, my video journalist Manish
03:49Jaa will show you that there is almost a tassel that has broken out right outside the Parliament
03:54Street Police Station. You can see this heavy deployment of forces, the members of ITBP and
03:58central forces have been deployed over here. Apart from that, the workers of the Cockroach
04:03Janta Party are now standing over here demanding that they should be allowed to go in. You can
04:09see in these visuals as well that Saurav Das has, in fact, and Ashutosh Ranka has been taken
04:14inside the barricades, whereas the other people, the other followers who had accompanied them
04:19have been asked to stop outside the gates of the Parliament Street Police Station. So, in the next few
04:25minutes, we can expect that this entire meeting between Ranka, Saurav Das and DCP, Delhi and other
04:33senior officials will happen in the next few minutes. But the CJP protesters are now demanding
04:38that there are a few other people, a few other lawyers that they are claiming who needs to be
04:42allowed inside. But at this point in time, a decision on that is being taken. It remains to be seen
04:48once this
04:49meeting happens. Will the workers of the CGP would actually be happy or be satisfied with the manner in
04:55which the discussion goes ahead? But if that does not happen, then definitely there could be more
05:02larger action that could be taken by the CGP workers eventually. But at this point in time,
05:07their focus is set on having a word with the senior officials of the Delhi Police along with their
05:13members and a few other lawyers so that they could put their point across as to why there should be
05:21an
05:21attempt to murder case that should be registered. Because as we all know, that just a confession
05:26that has been made by the accused does not stand in the court of law. Even if a 164 confession
05:31has been
05:32done, then the police actually needs to go ahead and corroborate evidences that substantiate the claim
05:37that has been made by the accused as well. In this case, the statement that came out from Delhi Police
05:42yesterday, they had said that the injuries that was sustained by the said victim, that is Sanjay Azhar,
05:50were not serious in nature. And this was something that was mentioned in the MLC. And hence, the section
05:56109 of the BNS, that is attempt to murder sections, were not added in this FIR. But definitely, this is
06:03not something that is satisfactory for the people. And hence, they are continuing with their protest over
06:10here. You can see that they are trying to converse with the officers of the Delhi Police, somewhere
06:14or the other, trying to put their point across as to why is it important for them, for more people
06:18to enter inside the DCP office and then have a conversation. But at this point in time, it does
06:24not seem like that any ice is being broken between the two parties. The CGP is very, very clear that
06:31they
06:31will go ahead and speak with the DCP. They will try to make sure that sections of attempt to murder
06:37and
06:37other serious sections are added, which does not warrant an immediate, which does actually warrant an
06:42immediate arrest. And then eventually, Swatantrata Bhardwaj is taken into custody at the earliest. But at this
06:48point in time, definitely, there is this tassel that has sort of a situation that has almost started. If I
06:53could
06:54show you on the other side, that is on the main roadside, the workers of the CGP have now sat
07:00over here,
07:01outside the Parliament Street Police Station, continuously raising slogans. But at this point
07:06in time, there are not a lot of supporters, as we have seen previously, who accompany the CGP
07:11workers. There are a few workers, protesters who have reached over here. They are raising slogans.
07:17They have sat on a dhana outside the Parliament Street, right outside the main gates of the Parliament
07:21Street Police Station. It can become a cause of concern for the Delhi Police, because yet again,
07:26this is a heavy security area. The International Parliament is less than 500 meters away from this
07:33location. And hence, this heavy security deployment that has been made over here. Now, once the meeting
07:39happens, it remains to be seen what kind of messaging would be done to the cadre of the CGP. And
07:44will the
07:44protest be handled today itself? Or will it end today itself? Or will the CGP try to amp up press?
07:50If you talk about the Congress Party, the Congress Party has also come out in support, though no big or
07:56senior leader of the of the Congress Party is over here. But Delhi, Yuva Mocha's Akshay Lakhra
08:02is present, who is of the Congress Party, who is present over here. Along with him, there are
08:08four to five workings, four to five arbitraries of the Congress Party who have also reached over here.
08:16And they've they are also trying to get inside, basically showing the support for the manner in
08:22which Nishu Azad has gone ahead and raised these allegations against, against Swatantat
08:29Bhartavad. So it remains to be seen what will eventually happen. But at this point in time,
08:32the situation does not seem to be subsiding, subsiding. In fact, there is some more movement
08:37that is happening happening over here. Some more leaders have started to reach over here.
08:42This sounds really good.
08:42You
