00:00I want to be a transformational Chancellor, you know, who changes the Treasury and places it once again at the
00:09service of the British people and as an engine of growth.
00:13You know, I've seen what Andy Burnham has done, taking away supposedly growth from John Healy and giving it to
00:21Number 10 North.
00:23Well, you know, whether or not Number 10 North is a good idea or just a gimmick, the Treasury has
00:29to be the engine of growth.
00:31And the only times that our country has pursued genuinely transformational supply-side reforms have been when you've had a
00:37Chancellor who drove those through himself.
00:40That's what Nigel Lawson and Geoffrey Howe did in the 1980s.
00:45That's what we need again.
00:46You need the Treasury to be the one fighting every day to make the economy more competitive.
