00:00Is this roster, as it stands now and maybe even after the manipulation of the next week or so,
00:06is this roster that the Bears are entering the 2026 season with better than the one that ended 2025?
00:14It's a great question because you look at the notable subtractions, right?
00:17It's DJ, it's Kevin Byard, it's Nashawn Wright, it's Tremaine Edmonds, it's Brisker,
00:21you know, C.J. Gardner-Johnson to some effect.
00:23Those were big subtractions and this was part of what happens in this league
00:27as you're trying to sustain success and you've got to make some decisions that are business-related
00:32and other decisions that are youth-related and whatever it may be.
00:36I think at full strength, David, that this roster is better than it was a year ago.
00:43I think you subtract Kobe Bryant and Kyler Gordon from the mix
00:46and one of them is going to be out through December, the other one we have no idea when we'll
00:50see again.
00:50Now all of a sudden you start to say, boy, inside of this division, inside of this conference,
00:55it's going to be difficult to match that 11-win total unless other guys find a way to make the
01:01leap.
01:01Remember, Nashawn Wright at this time last year, we didn't know much about him
01:04and then he came in and basically was a force in terms of helping your league-leading takeaway total.
01:09So you're going to need some surprise emergencies, you know,
01:12and so I think that's going to be a big deal here coming up is who they identify as guys
01:17that can hit that springboard
01:18and take the next leap, and I think obviously when we're talking about this team getting better,
01:24Caleb Williams has to be at the forefront of that discussion
01:26because his jump this year is going to define just what this team's ceiling is.
