00:00You are wearing a custom wedding gown.
00:02You are a top influencer.
00:03The cameras are flashing, your husband is waiting at the altar, and your best friend is handing you the rings.
00:10It is the peak of your life, and then they stab you in the back, literally and figuratively.
00:15You die, but instead of waking up in heaven, you wake up back in your bridal suite.
00:20It is the exact same morning, and you have to do it all over again.
00:24This is the opening of the 2026 Chinese drama Born Again, and it sets up a perfect revenge story.
00:32Most dramas drag a simple plot across 40 episodes, wasting your time with filler and flashbacks you never asked for.
00:39Born Again fixes this.
00:41Directed by Ziu Zionin and starring Fang Jin and Li Jaihao, the show gives you 24 episodes that are only
00:4817 minutes each.
00:50There is zero filler. Every single scene is a trap, a clue, or a kill.
00:55The main character, Gu Zionin, is living the dream.
00:59She is a top influencer marrying into a wealthy family, and everything she worked for is finally paying off.
01:05But her wedding day is an execution.
01:08Her husband, her best friend, and her own management agency all plan to murder her right at the altar for
01:14her assets and her fame.
01:15She dies a brutal death, but then she wakes up.
01:19She is trapped in what the show calls the infinite flow.
01:22At first, she is just a terrified victim.
01:25She panics, she screams, and she dies again and again.
01:29The show does not hide how traumatic this is.
01:32Each loop brings a new death, and each reset shows the same smiling faces hiding the same knives.
01:38But after her 20th or 30th death, something changes.
01:41She stops crying and starts planning.
01:44This is where the show shifts from a survival horror to a straight revenge story.
01:50Gu Zionin realizes she has a cheat code.
01:53She knows exactly what her killers are going to do, because she has watched them do it a dozen times.
01:58And she is not alone.
02:00Dr. Yishen is the only other person who keeps his memories across the resets.
02:05The show drops hints about his past connection to her, but right now, he is her tactical anchor.
02:10He is the one person in a world of amnesiacs who actually remembers.
02:15Together, they turn the loop into a weapon.
02:18You get those incredibly satisfying moments where she outsmarts everyone.
02:23She intercepts secret deals before they happen.
02:26She exposes her best friend's fake persona on a live stream in front of millions.
02:31She uses their greed to turn them against each other.
02:34Watching her take down these parasites using future knowledge is incredibly satisfying every single episode.
02:41But just when you think she is going to survive the wedding and take them all down, the show pulls
02:46the rug out from under you.
02:48The loop resets.
02:49But it does not reset to the wedding morning.
02:51It resets to a full week before the tragedy.
02:55Let that sink in.
02:57Gu Zayotting realizes that just surviving the wedding day is a temporary fix.
03:02If she only takes them out on the day itself, the system that created them is still standing.
03:07So she changes her entire strategy.
03:10She uses that extra week to infiltrate the agency from the inside.
03:14She bankrupts her husband's shell companies.
03:16She exposes the conspiracy at its root and burns the whole thing down.
03:21This turns the show from a simple escape thriller into a full corporate takedown.
03:27Is Born Again worth your weekend?
03:29Absolutely.
03:30Fang Jin does a great job as the lead.
03:33You can physically see the shift in her acting as she goes from a naive influencer to a cold strategist.
03:39The pacing is tight.
03:41Because it is a micro-drama, the writers had to respect your time.
03:44There are no accidental meetings and no misunderstandings that could be solved with one text message.
03:50It is just a concentrated plot from start to finish.
03:54The story also critiques the toxic side of influencer culture, which makes every act of revenge feel earned.
04:00It is streaming right now on Tencent Video and WeTV.
