00:02We're at a sports hall that has been converted into a government-run shelter.
00:08We've just seen two huge trucks of people turn up here but we've been told there's not
00:14going to be enough room for them to sleep and they're probably going to be moved again.
00:18A lot of children are here from deep within that disaster site in Rasua.
00:24Many of them don't even know that their parents perished in that flood.
00:28We've also just seen some devastating scenes of people who came here even from overseas.
00:35They came to see if their loved ones had survived and they've just found out that they died.
00:40One woman lives in Malaysia, her husband and her daughter live in Rasua,
00:44that district that was struck first by that flood.
00:47She's just found out that both of them died in that flood.
00:51These are true stories of devastation and it's really difficult to understand
00:55how any of these people are ever going to go home.
00:58We've been told from people who were on the ground that when people arrived to see if their home had
01:04survived,
01:04they couldn't even locate where their home used to be.
01:08For people here who survived the flood, there is little left behind.
01:12Many arrived with just the clothes on their backs and the memories of devastation.
01:16This teenager says she's struggling to sleep because she lost her friend.
01:23It's difficult to sleep. It's so congested. There are lots of people here and I miss my friends.
01:29I saw people get washed away, so it's difficult to sleep.
01:34I don't know what to do, but we have to stay here in a safe place. We have nothing left.
01:44NGOs here tell us that family tracing is underway.
01:47There are social workers trying to find extended family for the children that turned up here alone.
01:53But that's not going to be a fast process.
01:56And until then, they say places like this is what they'll call home.
02:02It has broken and valued.
02:03It's gotta be an asylum in a safe place and many reservations.
02:05We have96 folks about their homes.
