00:49I was outraged by hearing that I didn't see what good purpose it would serve and how
00:58that tied in with the economic discussions that our candidate in Ontario had.
01:03My first reaction was that they were in total breach of the agreement they signed, the United
01:10Nations Declaration on the Rights of Indigenous People to respect our language, our culture
01:15and our history in this land, which also includes the places that we have traditionally used
01:20before Europeans came or from other countries.
01:24I'm looking down very, very happy and very proud of a sister.
01:27So congratulations, Darlene.
01:31And finally, I guess the purpose of this more than anything else is we're going to be changing
01:36the name of Lake Ontario, effective immediately to Lake America.
01:42Yeah, that's going to take place right now as I sign the order.
01:48Okay.
02:01To show disrespect to our language, the name of the lake is not acceptable.
02:08And I hope that Mr. President will, the President will apologize for that.
02:12Maybe that wasn't his intention.
02:14I would like to see more productive discussions and more statesmanship-like qualities in the
02:22leaders and more diplomacy practice in respect in the dialogue that goes on.
02:31I know people can be angry and get, you know, quick-tempered and stuff like that, but I don't
02:35think it serves any good purpose.
02:36And changing the name of the lake is not acceptable.
02:40And I don't think it would ever be supported by the Haudenosaunee people from where its
02:45origin is or anybody in Canada, and probably maybe even not by a lot of people in the United
02:50States, because I don't think they see any good purpose of this type of, this style of
02:54politics.
02:55But...
03:14All right.
03:25I guess what economic purpose,
03:28how does that strengthen the economy
03:29by changing in either country
03:31the name of that lake?
03:32I don't think it does.
03:35I just think it adds more fuel
03:38to the fire of bad relations
03:40and it doesn't serve any good purpose.
03:42And so I hope that Mr. President Trump,
03:46with all due respect,
03:47will change his mind on that
03:50and maybe even apologize to the original people.
03:53Maybe that's not what he intended
03:54and maybe he did it when he was upset.
03:56People make mistakes along the way,
03:58so you have to give people the grace
04:00to be able to apologize
04:01if they've done something wrong.
04:02And I think that would go a long way
04:04and we don't need to get caught up
04:08in all of that kind of thing
04:10because nothing good can come of it.
04:19And I'm like...
04:21And I'm like...
04:22And I'm like...
04:23And I'm like...
04:24And I'm like...
04:32And I'm like...
04:32Bye.
