00:00We're going to look ahead now to what you can spend your money on for the weekend.
00:03And joining us right now is Bloomberg This Weekend's Christina Ruffini.
00:06She works all weekend.
00:07Before we get to any of what's happening, you're going to show us what you spend your money on,
00:11because that's what this show is about.
00:13Right.
00:13Your producing team was like, what do you spend money on?
00:15I was like, I am so cheap.
00:16I spend money on nothing.
00:18And then I was like, wait, this is not true.
00:20I have an extremely ridiculously expensive pair of cowboy boots.
00:24So I told them I would actually put pants on because I had a skirt on,
00:27and we thought that would get us all fired.
00:28But here are my Fry boots.
00:33I bought them 10 years ago.
00:35I think they were like on sale for $350.
00:38I Googled them before I came.
00:3910 years ago?
00:40They're now $500 for these Fry harness boots.
00:42They still make them, but they look the same as the day I bought them.
00:45I will never need another pair.
00:47And, you know, I've worn them to floods.
00:49I've worn them to Haiti.
00:51I've worn them to bars.
00:53You know, cowboy boots.
00:55Would these be boots that you would wear to Burning Man?
00:57Because Burning Man begins this weekend.
00:59Okay.
01:00I personally cannot think of something I would less rather do than go to, like...
01:05But does it feel appropriate to that?
01:06I think I could.
01:07I think here.
01:07I'll put them up here like this.
01:08Okay.
01:08I think I could burn in these boots.
01:10I mean, have you been a Burning Man?
01:12No, I'm not a burner, which I just learned was a term.
01:14It's...
01:14You could be a burner.
01:15I don't know if they're crazy enough, but they do work well in a desert climate.
01:19But I'm always surprised by the people who are, like, secretly going to Burning Man.
01:23And apparently...
01:24There's a big crew of them.
01:25There are now a lot of tech bros going to Burning Man.
01:27There are.
01:28Well, you know, the finance bros will be going to the U.S. Open, which officially kicks off this weekend.
01:33Are you guys going to be doing anything with that on Bloomberg this weekend?
01:35I think we're working on it.
01:36We actually had the head of IBM, they've launched their new app.
01:39He was on last week talking about the app is now crazy for the U.S. Open.
01:42You can, like, clock people's shots, and it breaks it down with all this data.
01:46And so we also had a professional tennis player on who was saying the tennis players themselves
01:50don't really have the capacity to use it, but the coaches are using it to help guide the players,
01:55the serves, and things like that.
01:56And it helps audience engagement is what they're trying to drive.
01:58And final item, Coyote versus Acme hits the theaters.
02:01This sounds like a fun one.
02:03I think the drama about this is that they're making the executive of the studio the villain
02:09for this because they were going to shelf this movie and take the loss.
02:13And Will Forte has been giving interviews saying Zaslav is, like, the enemy for this movie
02:18because they had to fight to get it released.
02:19But it's getting good reviews, and hopefully it'll be worth the push.
02:22All right.
02:22Look for that in your local movie theater, but it's not a big studio release.
02:26Christina, thank you so much.
02:27And make sure to watch Bloomberg this weekend, every Saturday and Sunday morning.
