00:00In seven seasons of doing RuPaul's Drag Race, I've never seen a car crash like this before.
00:07Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the nastiest,
00:11messiest, and most indefensible moments to ever come from the Drag Race franchise.
00:16I am very sad that she chose to use that as her last words.
00:19Hey, Eddie, sorry girl, we got a sashay away.
00:23Number 20, Kimono Gate.
00:24Tonight, my girls are ready to take a bow, because they're Madonna.
00:30Madonna has reinvented herself more times than most pop stars have released albums,
00:34so the odds of four queens choosing nearly the exact same look should have been microscopic.
00:40Yet for season 8's Night of a Thousand Madonnas runway, Thorgy Thor, Derek Berry, Naomi Smalls,
00:45and Kim Chi all emerged in variations of Madonna's iconic red kimono from the Nothing Really Matters music video.
00:51I have a gorgeous vintage wooden kimono, but I wish I wasn't wearing the same thing as Thorgy.
00:57The judges' increasingly bewildered faces as each queen rounded the corner were priceless.
01:02Having four versions of the same dress is outrageous, but what's even more unforgivable is that we could have gotten
01:08more.
01:08I didn't think anybody else was going to choose kimono Madonna.
01:12I'm trying to own this even though three other girls are in the exact same look.
01:18According to Bob the Drag Queen, Cynthia Lee Fontaine and Naysha Lopez, who had both been eliminated at that point,
01:24also packed kimono-inspired outfits for that runway.
01:27Tonight on the runway, I don't know if you guys had some kind of symbiotic message to each other,
01:33but there's a lot of kimonos, which is very interesting.
01:36Number 19.
01:37Charlie Hydes just stands there.
01:48A lip sync for your life usually involves queens fighting for their spot in the competition,
01:52but it seems someone forgot to tell Charlie Hydes that.
01:55Facing Trinity the tuck to Britney Spears' I Wanna Go,
01:58Charlie barely moved, spending most of the performance standing in place while Trinity danced circles around her.
02:05I, I, I wanna show up.
02:07Charlie, let's go!
02:10I didn't know through my mind.
02:15Whoa!
02:16The queens at the back repeatedly urged her to do something, anything,
02:20but Charlie still didn't move an inch,
02:23essentially handing Trinity the win on a silver platter.
02:26Charlie has since offered multiple explanations for this baffling decision,
02:29including that she had a cracked rib, didn't know the words,
02:32and believed she couldn't beat Trinity anyway.
02:34Charlie, come on!
02:37Come on, Charlie.
02:38Do something, Charlie.
02:41I'm not a lip sync performer.
02:4299% of the acts in London sing live,
02:45so I just need Rude to say it, sashay away.
02:48Whatever the cause, it simply appeared that Charlie had thrown in the towel.
02:52Number 18.
02:53Gabbana and Star read the judges' notes.
02:56Curiosity may have killed the cat,
02:58and in the second season of Drag Race Belgique,
03:01it nearly killed these queens' chances at the crown.
03:03When I remember the time that you listened to each other,
03:08don't forget, don't forget, don't forget, don't forget.
03:12You felt their pain.
03:15It wasn't always very good.
03:16During a filming break,
03:18Gabbana and Star wandered over to the judges' table
03:20and peeked at their critique sheets,
03:22seemingly forgetting, or perhaps not even caring,
03:24that the cameras were right there and still rolling.
03:27Later, on the main stage,
03:28host Rita Baga confronted them in front of the entire cast,
03:31revealing production had caught everything on video.
03:49Considering contestants have been severely punished for breaking production rules before,
03:53many expected a disqualification.
03:56Instead, the pair escaped with a stern warning,
03:59leaving fans almost as shocked as the queens themselves.
04:07While these queens sashay away,
04:09you should shantay your way over to Ms. Mojo's 24-7 livestream.
04:13Scan the QR code on your screen to get more fun drag race lists like this.
04:16How fun.
04:19Number 17.
04:20The Pork Chop Loading Dock.
04:22Attention queens in the Pork Chop Loading Dock.
04:25Cut that out.
04:26The departure van will be arriving soon.
04:29On behalf of the judges,
04:32we want to wish you safe travels.
04:35Wherever your final destination may be.
04:38Season 13 wasted absolutely no time playing mind games.
04:42In the premiere episode,
04:44the queens were made to lip-sync immediately
04:46after entering the workroom.
04:48Then, the loser, or losers,
04:50of each matchup were whisked away
04:51to the ominous Pork Chop Loading Dock,
04:53where they were led to believe
04:54their drag race journey was already over.
04:57They can't send us home.
04:58They can kind of do whatever they want.
05:00Right.
05:00They kind of...
05:00No!
05:01Yeah.
05:02I object.
05:02We're trying to figure out what's going on.
05:04This is what we've been talking about this whole time.
05:06Is this the real tea?
05:08Of course, it turned out to be an elaborate fake-out,
05:10but that didn't erase the emotional toll.
05:12Instead of creating suspense,
05:14the twist saddled half the cast
05:15with an immediate loser's label
05:17that lingered throughout the competition.
05:19If it isn't the B squad...
05:22Oh, so that's how it is.
05:25That's how it is.
05:26If it isn't the anywhere to go but down squad...
05:30Considering only Rose reached the top five from that group,
05:33the psychological damage proved much harder to shake
05:36than production probably intended.
05:42I'm feeling my fucking Shakira oats right now.
05:45Like, this is what Shakira would wear
05:47if she had the J-Lo dress.
05:48I'm wearing the curtain for the dress,
05:51and then I use the pillowcase for the bra.
05:53The Glamazon Prime design challenge
05:55tasked the queens with transforming unconventional materials
05:58from Michelle Visage's collection
05:59into high-fashion looks.
06:01On the runway, queens like Lady Camden
06:03and Angeria Paris Van Michaels
06:04presented polished, ambitious garments,
06:06and either of them could have justifiably taken the win.
06:09However, RuPaul decided to give it to Georgias,
06:12who had walked the runway
06:13in a basic bodysuit-style garment
06:15made out of a shower curtain and cookie cutters.
06:17It is simple,
06:18but sometimes simple is smart.
06:22Okay.
06:24You know, last week you were in the bottom,
06:26and you have redeemed yourself this week, child.
06:29Absolutely no one in that room
06:30could believe RuPaul's choice,
06:32not even Georgias herself.
06:33Few judging decisions in Drag Race herstory
06:36have triggered louder cries of rigamorous than this one.
06:39I'm on top of the world right now.
06:41Oh my God.
06:43I definitely don't think it's top material.
06:45What are you conveying other than,
06:47hey, I'm gorgeous, Georgias?
06:53Teenage dream.
06:54Hey, Katy Perry.
06:56Is that your fragrance?
06:58It is.
06:58Would you like to try some?
06:59No.
07:00Okay.
07:01Snatch Game is where legends are made,
07:04and if we were going by this challenge alone,
07:07Alyssa Edwards would not have
07:08the legendary status she does today.
07:10Portraying Katy Perry in the Season 5 Snatch Game,
07:13Alyssa fumbled every reference she was given,
07:16never grasped the character's playful energy,
07:18and gave a bafflingly terrible response
07:20to the most basic question.
07:21Did you really kiss a girl?
07:24Have you ever kissed a girl?
07:26Oh.
07:26Well, never.
07:28But, uh, yeah.
07:30The whole thing was so catastrophically off-target
07:32that RuPaul actually made her publicly apologize
07:35to Katy Perry on Twitter afterward.
07:37Alyssa, this week you let down Katy Perry.
07:41I want you to tweet an apology to her tonight.
07:47Hashtag RuPaulology.
07:49Yes, ma'am.
07:50Alyssa survived solely because she had immunity
07:53from winning the previous week's challenge.
07:55Many fans believe this disaster directly contributed
07:58to the show eliminating the immunity advantage entirely
08:00after Season 5.
08:02Katy Perry's fans are gonna slay me.
08:03It was an embarrassment to my career.
08:06Number 14.
08:07Vivaldi secretly uses a cell phone.
08:24Contestants on Drag Race are completely cut off
08:27from the outside world during filming.
08:28Ideally, there should be no phones
08:30and no outside communication full stop.
08:33On Season 2 of Drag Race Holland, however,
08:36Vivaldi decided those rules didn't apply to her
08:38and secretly brought a phone into the competition.
08:40You're a phone in the clinic.
08:52Fellow contestant Vanessa Van Cartier confronted Vivaldi
08:55in the workroom during an argument,
08:57which she initially didn't admit to.
08:59The issue was subsequently escalated to the main stage
09:02where host Fred van Leer only gave her a serious warning
09:04instead of a disqualification.
09:18Fans were furious.
09:20But the situation turned even more outrageous
09:23when Vivaldi landed in the bottom two
09:24against frontrunner Keita Minaj,
09:26only for the judges to send Keita home.
09:45Number 13.
09:46Lala Ri's bag look.
09:48I'm serving you pink and purple rockstar realness.
09:51I've added the purse on my head
09:53because I want them to focus on, like, the head up
09:55when they kind of look past the construction of the actual outfit.
09:59Creating high fashion out of unconventional materials
10:01is never easy,
10:02but there was just no excuse
10:04for walking down RuPaul's runway looking like this.
10:07For the bag ball,
10:08Lala Ri hot glued dozens of small gift bags
10:10onto a black corset,
10:12topped everything off with a furry purse as a wig,
10:14and called it a day.
10:15How come you didn't cut up them bags or do something?
10:18Well, originally, I was making distance to, like, a dress
10:22with just the bag,
10:23and then I ran out of bags.
10:25I started gluing it onto the corset,
10:27and I had, like...
10:27But why not cut it or do something
10:29so they're not just literal bags glued to you?
10:33She barely even altered the materials,
10:35which made the outfit even harder to defend,
10:38especially considering the fact that Utica
10:40had produced a breathtaking garment from sleeping bags
10:42in the very same challenge.
10:44The look became so iconically dreadful
10:46that Drag Race had to create the Golden Boot Award
10:49to celebrate the most memorable fashion flops.
10:52Lala Ri was the inaugural inductee.
10:54Baby, ever since I was a little bitty girl,
10:56I wanted to win this award,
10:57even though it never existed before tonight.
10:59But listen, I found 40, girl!
11:01You better manifest!
11:03Look at the girl, it's so cute, girl!
11:05I'm gonna put it right in my bedroom.
11:07Number 12, Arrietty's Mirror Message.
11:10Arrietty managed to cram an entire season's worth
11:12of questionable decisions into a single episode.
11:15After feeling frustrated that Jules Sparkles
11:17had given her an unfavorable placement in the roast order,
11:20she decided to steal some of her jokes.
11:23I'm not gonna make a fat joke about Mistress,
11:25because Mistress is already a fat joke.
11:33Oh my god, she stole my jokes.
11:34Nevertheless, she still flopped the challenge
11:37and landed in the bottom two alongside Jules,
11:39who sent her packing.
11:41Then, because Anya Nerve had called her out during Untucked,
11:44Arrietty wrote a mirror message mocking her breath,
11:46despite knowing Anya had privately shared her insecurities
11:49about the issue with fellow contestants.
11:51As one smelly bitch to another,
11:53Anya, please brush your teeth.
11:55Oh wow.
12:02The cruelty of weaponizing someone's private vulnerability
12:05was not lost on anyone.
12:07Backlash came swiftly from both queens and fans alike.
12:11Arrietty did eventually apologize to Anya,
12:13but the damage was done.
12:15I want to sincerely apologize.
12:18It was unacceptable behavior for sure.
12:20And I'm so sorry.
12:22It did, like, really hurt my feelings,
12:24because, like, I didn't expect that.
12:26I feel like I've grown since then
12:29to take accountability for myself.
12:32Yeah.
12:32Number 11.
12:33Team Kennedy's Shakespeare performance.
12:35RuPaul does not throw around superlatives lightly.
12:38So, when she declared Team Kennedy's performance
12:40in the Shakespeare acting challenge a huge train wreck,
12:43you knew something truly catastrophic
12:45had unfolded on that set.
12:47Hey, Hogwarts rejects, what's your prediction?
12:56The spirits.
12:57The spirits have spoken.
13:00We saw it in a dream.
13:01Lady McBitch is the nature supreme.
13:05Almost as soon as they began,
13:06the group descended into complete chaos.
13:09Jasmine Masters forgot her lines,
13:11awkward pauses swallowed entire scenes,
13:13and nearly everyone seemed to lose track
13:15of what was happening.
13:16Watch out, sisters.
13:17I'm pre...
13:20Keep going.
13:21Keep going.
13:22Watch out, sisters.
13:23I'm the queen.
13:24I'm the real prima donna.
13:26Hair coach is gonna...
13:27Hair cheerleaders is gonna be me,
13:29Lakeisha Creon.
13:30Pearl's bizarrely flat cheer coach
13:32somehow became unintentionally hilarious,
13:34while Kennedy Davenport struggled
13:36to keep the production from falling apart.
13:38This was one challenge
13:39where a six-way lip sync
13:41would have almost felt justified.
13:42I don't want to hear any goddamn excuses.
13:46Be prepared.
13:47We didn't have time to be rehearsed.
13:49Make it work.
13:50Make it work.
13:51Make it happen.
13:53I don't want to hear any goddamn excuses anymore.
13:56But as the team captain,
13:57Kennedy was forced to battle
13:58for her survival against Jasmine.
14:01Number 10.
14:02Utica Queen's Roast.
14:03Just think it through
14:04of what is funny
14:05and what is mean.
14:07Mean never works.
14:08In her season,
14:09Utica made a dazzling impression
14:11with her sickening looks on the runway
14:12and endearing oddball energy.
14:14But when it came to comedy challenges,
14:17the Minnesota queen
14:18was clearly riding the struggle bus.
14:20I'm painting many, many things
14:23I only know how to paint.
14:24What is that?
14:26Environment.
14:26After a painfully unfunny showing
14:29on the Snatch Game,
14:30she bombed yet again
14:31during the Nice Queen's Roast Challenge.
14:33Not only did her jokes fall flat,
14:35but she crossed the thin line
14:37between good old roast
14:38and being straight up mean.
14:40Nina West.
14:41Yeah, yes.
14:48Oh, I'm sorry.
14:50I thought you could speak whale.
14:51Utica's crude jab at Lonnie Love
14:53in particular came back to bite her
14:55when the guest judge heckled her,
14:57delivering arguably
14:58the funniest line of the set.
14:59It's just as hard to swallow
15:01as Lonnie Love's comedy career.
15:06You're the one bobbing.
15:08Number nine.
15:09The return of Art Simone.
15:11Throughout the Drag Race franchise,
15:13multiple queens have been given
15:15a second chance
15:15after an early exit
15:16in a previous season.
15:18But this was one return
15:19that didn't sit well
15:20with a lot of fans.
15:22Gag.
15:22After her shocking elimination
15:24on the second episode,
15:25it seemed Art Simone
15:26wasn't quite done
15:27making her mark just yet.
15:29At least,
15:29that's what RuPaul thought.
15:31The renowned Australian queen
15:32returned to the competition
15:33just two episodes later
15:35because,
15:35well,
15:37look over there.
15:38Someone's a trap.
15:41There we go.
15:44What?
15:45The move came as an even bigger shock
15:47to the other contestants
15:48and to viewers around the world.
15:50Many questioned
15:51why Art alone
15:52was given a second chance
15:53and not the other
15:54eliminated queens,
15:55Coco Jumbo
15:55and Jojo's Aho.
15:57Some of these girls
15:57don't look happy
15:58to see me, Ru.
15:59Oh, wow.
16:00I see they've neglected
16:01to take the trash out.
16:03Number eight.
16:04Sister Sister
16:05and Ahura's duplicate looks.
16:07For their splashing return
16:09from the COVID-19 lockdown,
16:10the season two UK queens
16:12were challenged
16:12to impress the judges
16:14with their best
16:14seaside-inspired looks.
16:16Both Ahura and Sister Sister
16:18walked down the runway
16:19as ketchup-covered fries
16:20wrapped in newspapers.
16:22I'm sort of disappointed for you.
16:25It's a real inconvenience
16:26that Ahura came
16:27and did an arguably
16:30more polished version
16:31of this similar concept.
16:33Now,
16:33while similar looks
16:34aren't exactly a novelty
16:36on the main stage,
16:36this one was just a little too specific
16:38to be a mere coincidence.
16:40As the queens untucked
16:41in the workroom,
16:42it was revealed
16:43that Sister Sister
16:44changed her original look
16:46during the filming break.
16:47Why'd you change it?
16:49Money in seven months
16:50and opportunity,
16:52time,
16:52and inspiration.
16:54She claimed
16:55she wasn't inspired
16:56by her co-star's ensemble,
16:57though Ahura seemed
16:58to disagree.
17:00Oddly enough,
17:01the latter contestant
17:02won the next design challenge
17:03in a makeup look
17:04that echoed Sister Sister's
17:06signature blue circle
17:07around her red lip.
17:08It's very Gaga.
17:09The drama, Mom.
17:11Number seven.
17:12Shangela getting voted out
17:14by the jury.
17:15Through the first episodes
17:16of All Stars 3,
17:17no one had a better track record
17:19than season six
17:20Miss Congeniality
17:21Ben de la Creme.
17:22It's like I proved
17:23everything I have to prove.
17:25After five out of six wins,
17:28what more can I want?
17:30This in gold?
17:31I have spray paint at home.
17:33The moment she shockingly
17:34eliminated herself,
17:36it became Shangela's game
17:37to lose.
17:38And lose it she did,
17:39but not because
17:40she underperformed.
17:41In one of the most shocking
17:43twists of the franchise,
17:45RuPaul put the decision
17:46of determining the final two
17:47into the hands
17:48of the eliminated queens.
17:50There's gonna be
17:50eliminated queens
17:51who choose
17:52who won the most challenges.
17:53There's gonna be
17:53eliminated queens
17:53who choose their friend.
17:55And there's gonna be
17:55eliminated queens
17:56who do not choose
17:57certain people
17:58because they don't like them.
17:59This led to Shangela
18:01and Bibi Zahara Benet
18:02being voted out
18:03of the competition.
18:04This outcome
18:05caused an uproar
18:06in the fandom.
18:07Over time, though,
18:09public opinion
18:09about this decision
18:10has largely shifted,
18:11particularly following
18:12the controversies
18:13that later surrounded Shangela.
18:15So, I'm gonna keep
18:16my head up,
18:17I'm gonna keep it pushing,
18:18and I'm gonna keep working.
18:20My story's not over.
18:21Number six,
18:22the highly unprofessional
18:23Snatch Game.
18:24The Snatch Game
18:25has long been touted
18:27as the challenge
18:27that separates
18:28the fierce competitors
18:29from the, well,
18:30not so fierce ones.
18:32It's no wonder
18:33a lot of fans
18:33eagerly look forward
18:34to the game show parody.
18:36But in the season four edition,
18:37that enthusiasm
18:38was quickly doused
18:40by the desperate choices
18:41made by some of the queens.
18:42This is worse
18:43than when I had
18:44Omarosa on my show.
18:45Get off me.
18:46Fifi O'Hara's Lady Gaga
18:47clearly garnered no applause.
18:49Jiggly Caliente's Snooki
18:51was more of a snoozy.
18:52And we certainly
18:54were not crazy in love
18:55with Kenya Michaels'
18:56Beyoncé.
18:57Sasha Fierce.
18:58I wanna take
18:59a sweet dream right now.
19:01Oh, oh, oh, oh, oh,
19:02oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh, oh.
19:07At some point,
19:08everything just seemed
19:09to be happening
19:10everywhere all at once.
19:12Latrice Royale
19:12pretty much summed up
19:13everyone's reaction
19:14while watching this.
19:15The level of unprofessionalism
19:17far too much.
19:19Number five,
19:20Jocelyn Fox interviews
19:21Georgia Holt and Chaz Bono.
19:23For this season six episode,
19:25the queens were tasked
19:26with interviewing
19:27Georgia Holt and Chaz Bono,
19:29the mother and son
19:30of legendary singer
19:31and actress Cher. While some excelled in the challenge, other queens fell flat on their faces.
19:46Jocelyn Fox, the adorable black horse of the season, unfortunately belonged in the latter
19:52category. Things got off to a pretty inappropriate start, but they then built up to one of the
19:57cringiest moments in Drag Race herstory. Jocelyn's intrusive final question put Holt on the spot,
20:12and not in a good way. She and Bono were clearly uncomfortable. The worst part is that Jocelyn
20:17was confident she had aced the interview.
20:32Ever since Sasha Velour's unforgettable moment at the season 9 grand finale, reveals have
20:37become a common occurrence in the final lip-syncs.
20:48Most queens now come out decked in bulky ensembles and sky-high wigs in hopes of pulling off the
20:55next gag-worthy transformation. Asia O'Hara's attempt at this during the season 10 finale,
21:00however, didn't quite go as planned.
21:10Lip-syncing against Cameron Michaels to Janet Jackson's Nasty, Asia planned to unleash butterflies
21:16from pods attached to her outfit. But when it came time for the grand reveal, the creatures didn't fly,
21:22falling to the floor instead, to the horror of the live audience. The performance was shocking,
21:28awkward, and rendered the queen's chances of winning the crown dead on arrival.
21:33But I want to thank you for making it such a sickening season. Now, sashay away.
21:40Number 3. Mimi I'm First lifts India Farrah. After landing in the bottom two for the fitness
21:47workout challenge, season 3 queens Mimi I'm First and India Farrah had to fight for their spot in
21:52the competition. Now, a fight on drag race means having to deliver a lip-sync performance,
21:57but it seems someone was thinking a little too literally.
22:00I'm totally surprised. I think that now anything goes.
22:04Things got off to a pretty normal start, with Mimi I'm First doing everything right,
22:08nailing the words and giving the right emotion. Then, as if possessed by some supernatural drag
22:14force, she hoisted India up and over her shoulder.
22:18What the hell is she thinking? You can't be lifting up drag queens.
22:21The absolutely shocking moment led to her elimination, and also one of the most iconic quotes of the
22:27entire franchise.
22:32Number 2. Valentina would like to keep it on, please.
22:36Following their poor showing in season 9's TV pilot team challenge, Valentina and Nina Bonina
22:41Brown were placed in the bottom two. To remain in the competition, the queens had to deliver a
22:46sickening performance of Ariana Grande's Greedy. At first, Valentina kept her mask on, prompting
22:52RuPaul to halt the lip-sync and demand that it be taken off.
22:56I'd like to keep it on, please.
23:01It's a lip-sync. What part of that do you not understand?
23:05The tension in their ensuing exchange was so thick, you'd need shears to cut through
23:10it. With the mask now removed, things kicked back into gear, and it became apparent that
23:15Valentina did not know the words to the song.
23:17In this moment, my mind is just at a blank. I don't remember the song. I just want to disappear.
23:23While that marked the end of her journey on that season, she was able to redeem herself when she
23:28returned for All-Stars 4.
23:39Before we unveil our top pick, here are some honorable mentions.
23:43Aiden Zayn as Patricia Quinn. Even the real-life Quinn was, quote,
23:47disgusted beyond belief by the Snatch Game portrayal.
23:50Sis.
23:52Charissa May and River Medway are eliminated. The double elimination of two fan favorites didn't win
23:58RuPaul a lot of fans.
23:59Soto love ya.
24:01It's time to Brexit, bitches. Bye, love ya.
24:06Kennedy Davenport's Death Becomes Her Runway. We still can't figure out the concept behind this look.
24:11Morality tale, do not go to Tijuana for your plastic surgery.
24:15Number 1. Six-Way Lip Sync
24:17This will go down as one of the most atrocious decisions ever made on RuPaul's Drag Race.
24:24Oh, mama is mad and I'll stick, so y'all have to pay.
24:29Faith!
24:31Child!
24:32Early on in the 11th season, the Queens were tasked with creating
24:35Shevangelical talk shows to worship a pop diva. In a complete deviation from the norm,
24:41all members of the losing team were then made to lip-sync for their lives.
24:44As a result, Akira C. Davenport, Honey Davenport, Plastique Tiara, Raja O'Hara,
24:50Scarlet Envy, and Suga Kane all performed at the same time.
24:54How do I use this stage without hitting these bitches in the face?
25:00If I got to cut a bitch off, a bitch is getting cut right here, that Tanya Harden moment.
25:05With barely enough space to move around, this showing was unsurprisingly a hot mess.
25:11We have only three words for whomever approved this decision. Stink. Stank. Stunk.
25:18I wish I could have shown you more of myself from the moment I walked into the gate.
25:23What do you think is the most unforgivable moment on Drag Race? Let us know in the comments.
