00:00So this is my part of the world. I'm actually a Cleveland MP. It's horrendous. You think about that young
00:05girl who lost her life. You think about those police officers who lost their lives in the most horrific circumstances.
00:11Horrendous situation. But this is a consequence of a police force that hasn't had the funding that it needs, dealing
00:18with a really challenging community and a group, a minority of individuals in that community who are causing absolute havoc
00:26and misery for everyone around them.
00:28That police force hasn't had the money it needed. Our own Labour Police and Crime Commissioner said it was a
00:33£2.4 million shortfall in funding this year. Police forces across the country slammed with that national insurance increase, you
00:41know, taxing the police off our streets. Literally, this police force doesn't need 200 more police officers today and tomorrow.
00:47It needs a permanent increase in funding to get a real grip on some of those challenges that the force
00:52faces.
