πŸ₯‹ JET LI β€” LEARNING, DETERMINATION & INTERNATIONAL SUCCESS

Jet Li is one of the world's most recognizable martial-arts movie stars, but his journey to international fame required more than incredible physical ability.

Born Li Lianjie on April 26, 1963, in Beijing, China, Jet Li began practicing wushu at a young age and became a highly accomplished competitive wushu athlete before establishing himself as a movie star.

After becoming famous through Chinese and Hong Kong cinema, Jet Li made a major move into Hollywood. One of his breakthrough American roles came in 1998's Lethal Weapon 4, where he played the villain Wah Sing Ku.

But there was another challenge: English.

Li has spoken about the difficulty of working in English and how limited his English was when he first entered Hollywood. He has explained that he worked hard on the language as he built his international movie career.

And here's what makes the story so inspiring: he was already in his mid-30s when he made his Hollywood breakthrough.

Instead of allowing a language barrier to stop him, Jet Li continued learning while taking on major English-language productions.

He went on to star in movies including:

🎬 Romeo Must Die
πŸ”₯ Kiss of the Dragon
πŸ₯‹ The One
βš”οΈ Cradle 2 the Grave
πŸ’₯ Unleashed
⭐ The Expendables

His story is a powerful reminder that learning doesn't have an expiration date.

Whether you're 15, 35, 55, or older, there's always an opportunity to learn something new and pursue a new chapter.
