00:06:06How do you think this Buffalo defense will look this year?
00:06:09Well a lot of it's going to fall on Jim Leonard
00:06:11They've got to pick the right guys up front
00:06:13It's going to start up front with the defensive line
00:06:15They've got to do a better job of holding the line of scrimmage
00:06:18You see here in the third quarter early in the third quarter
00:06:20Is snap off a four-yard run on first down on three consecutive first downs and that's the problem
00:06:29They had more defensive injuries than a lot of teams did last year
00:06:33Second most of the National Football League had 24 different guys start on defense
00:06:38And they only had one defensive guy that started all 17 games that was Cole Bishop
00:06:43So they had a revolving door hard to get continuity on a season like that
00:06:51Now they're looking to throw and that one's completed the 24-yard line and breaking a tackle is Hurlman
00:06:57And in the red zone go the Steelers

00:07:05Yeah, Jordan Dunbar and coverage there just lost him at the top of the route

00:07:42Bills fans are optimistic about has been the addition of Bradley Chubb
00:07:46Eight and a half sacks a year ago for Miami and it seems like he's been a great culture fit

00:07:52Yeah, he's been a huge boost to the younger players particularly TJ Parker
00:07:57The hot top of the second round pick the Bills top draft pick
00:08:01He has really mentored him and started paying it forward like it was done for him as a young player
00:08:06Chubb being a guy
00:08:07And he's got some credibility in the locker room as well as being a good player and a longtime veteran
00:08:11To come in and say some things that guys will listen to it means a lot when it comes to
00:08:16a vet from a veteran player
00:08:17Allard nearly intercepted Anthony Kendall had it in his hands and could not secure it
00:08:25That is an enormous missed opportunity Kendall is going to lay awake in bed tonight thinking about this play

00:20:59Yeah, feels good to be out here playing tackle football again
00:21:03In perfect preseason fashion go out there and cover a kickoff and then
00:21:07you know the first long punt so
00:21:10You know and then you finally get to settle in and play some defense
00:21:13But no, it's fun to be back out here playing actual tackle football before week one
00:21:17This was kind of the plan and
00:21:20You know just glad to be here. What were you trying to zero in on out there?
00:21:23You know, I think it's uh, you know folk like taking a game plan bring it out on the field
00:21:28and then
00:21:28You know in practice you can only get rush
00:21:31So far because we're not going to get anywhere near our quarterback
00:21:34So in a live setting just being able to
00:21:37You know finish that the top end your rushes and then
00:21:39You know you actually got to tackle and bring guys to the ground
00:21:42You're a chess piece on the defensive line. You can be used all over
00:21:46Why is this new 3-4 defense perfect for you?
00:21:50Yeah, it's fun, uh, you know
00:21:51It's experience that I kind of had during my time with the rams and
00:21:55uh, you know, it's just it gives sort of our outside linebacker group a bit of creativity

00:22:05Yeah, we got to be you know, we're a bunch of dynamic athletes and we get to put us in
00:22:08space and disguise stuff
00:22:10and you know for me, it's uh
00:22:12I have a lot of fun with
00:22:14The disguise part of it and the communication piece of it
00:22:17So it's it's been a lot of fun to work with disguising on defense. What's your favorite thing to do?
00:22:23Uh, well, I mean I was i'm a big believer in everything that things that look the same
00:22:27But end up playing different, you know offense is always trying to do that
00:22:30They're line up in a formation and they have a run off of it
00:22:33A boot off of it a drop back pass off of it a jet sweep off of it
00:22:36So kind of the same thing for defenses. I want
00:22:39Every time i'm in a position. I have a rush off of it. I have a drop off of it.
00:22:43I have stunts and moves and
00:22:45Uh, just down to great punt. Uh, and you know, so I want everything
00:22:50I never wanted an offense to be able to know what i'm doing

00:23:15Football dna runs deep for the family of special teams coordinator jeff rogers
00:23:20Rodgers went to westlake high school as a center from 92 to 96
00:23:25His brothers played quarterback while his father was a recruiting coordinator at the university of texas
00:23:32Rodgers had the opportunity to snap for quarterback drew breeze
00:23:36That's because his younger brother johnny battled it out for the job with breeze breeze won it in 95
00:23:43Thinking back to that time rogers says breeze was such an athlete he could play baseball tennis
00:23:49He took advantage of every opportunity 30 years later
00:23:53Breeze is now a hall of fame quarterback
00:23:55Rodgers is in his first season as the bills special teams
00:23:58Coordinator and his older brother jay is the edges coach for the saints rogers says you stick around football long

00:38:20The number one item here in buffalo is that beef on weck. We're on a beautiful wegman's weck roll here,
00:38:25right? And then it's the
00:38:26um palmer's palmer's meats wow it's a certified angus beef really really delicious and the side of horseradish goes with
00:38:33that must have the horseradish
00:38:35And then obviously, you know, you can't have uh buffalo without a cup and char pepperoni pizza. That's right
00:38:41We're serving about 3 000 pizzas a day here right now. Is that right?

00:41:13We have a lot of chefs on on board here
00:41:15And a lot of cooks and we're all pumping, you know
00:41:1814 hours a day leading up to these days to make sure you guys have all this food
